5.9 CR going in a 1984 GMC 1500

Got the gauges in the panel I made. Still gotta get a speedometer later. It's going in the center.

Nice build. What did the front bench and center console come out of? I have a 86 I would like to put a new seat in.
 
I found it in a late 70s square at the junkyard. The upholstery guy said it was an old aftermarket conversion seat.

Put in some hours on it this weekend. Got the radiator, fans, and intercooler mounted. I got water in it and let the motor warm up, it got to about 140* and idled it self up to what sounds like 1100rpm and wouldn't idle back down. My cheapo scan tool won't connect to it for some reason. Hope it's something simple....

I'm fairly embarrassed to admit I swapped two wires in that OBDII port. I need to dig your wire color build sheet out and see where I crossed them up.
 
Mistakes happen man. You were there to walk me through fixing it and that's what counts.
 
Got quite a bit done this weekend.

Thumb'n thru your pics, I thought why did he put his air filter there?

Didn't see the cowl induction hood! Looking at the intercooler instead lol. Looks great!
 
Still lookin good man. You have a date set for finishin it or just goin to work till its done?

I would personally try and get rid of that 45* boot on the turbo to intercooler. But very nice build!!
 
It's a Chinese eBay intercooler. Not super happy about it, but we'll see what happens.

That boot and another on the other side are going away. Gotta get over to a buddy's with a tig welder.
