Well, my PS62 wouldn't spool past 40-41psi and my conFE couldn't do a 3rd gear burnout with bald tires ( i fail! :) ) Now it REALLY slips at 70. Next 1099 check that comes in I'm calling SBC.

Just a boost fooler and TNT/R I even turn the rail pressure down to mild to help with spool.

I did manage to break the dyno. First pull was 596/1040. turns out the brake was stuck on.. second and 3rd pull was 245hp. on these 2 pulls, I turned up the waste gate (thinking the first pull really was "clean") and I did manage to hit 50psi.

I'll scan and post the graphs Monday. however, I have an interesting "dip" around 3500. pulled all the way to 3800 each pull. Rail pressure dipped as usual and came right up to 24.5 and sat the each and every run. Didn't think to order an mp-8 last week when I decided to order Shane's pump.

All in all. I'm sure with an mp8 making more pressure, this little PS62 at 50psi is capable of 650hp assuming the clutch holds.

I'll bet that little PS62 spools well, has great egt's around town, and the only downside is egt's at 100 mph WOT. I think more and more guys are loving the driving characteristics of a smaller turbo that shines everywhere except the tip top end.

Great numbers by the way!

Good deal! I can see you having a good truck all around. Great trailer puller. Thanks, Brady

awesome number Jason!

mind running down the combo you were running on that pull? :D

PS62 with wastegate closed off (didn't matter tho) at only 40psi
TNT/r on 9, rail on 2, tq on 2, timing on 2
a boost fooler
90hp ddp
banks intercooler and hi-ram with 3 cores sealed off on the intercooler (quality stuff!)
springs
confe holding on for dear life
bald 285/70/17 nitto's
Shane's current big pump

I might just buy an hour on the dyno once I get the new clutch in and mp-8 here. Is it really possible to not be able to not spool a PS62 on a dynojet? can't be right.

if you've got a dyno operator that messes w/ a lot of diesels, he can brake the truck down for you. or if you can just ride your service brakes to get some load on it :o

Nice Numbers! I guess that goes to show how low Peter de-rates his clutches!

Heck, I got 5 Pulls this summer on my OFE and it still doesnt miss a beat! I pulled the first time just to destroy the clutch and give me a good reason to get a new one, now Im on a path to see how much this clutch can take!

On floor it's dyno, I hit 1266 (5th gear pull) with it! it loaded the turbo too to 50psi. few weeks later it was the first cool 60 degree night out and I loaded it up in 6th from 60 and it slipped good. so I think dang near 1300 is where the slipping point is.

As far as these dyno guys, I dunno. I know they have dynoed a lot of trucks, not sure how many fast trucks they have driven. They send all the diesel work to a local shop. :)

Maybe it's time to find a load dyno from now on? Said local diesel shop isn't sure of when they'll get their own dyno so who knows.

awesome! yeah, mine had already been slipped a few times at that point, so yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if 1300+ was it :o

And then you factor 70,000 miles of grocery getting, :) Not bad. Not bad for a little clutch.

SBC street dual disk will be ordered first thing in the morning. I'll hope to have it installed this week. If I'm lucky, I'll have an MP-8 by then. Someone, stop me :) my GF gave up long ago! :)

As for turbo upgrade. Shane was talking about some wacky S480 or 400 and some piping for a cost... I'm leaning more toward a SB66 or something around that size. I can use part of my PS62 for this upgrade and save a few dollars.

Jury is still out on the turbo tho.

I'm going to focus on new tires, clutch and mp8. Going to pull a Hail Marry and call TST to see what the deal is. I don't wanna swap injectors like crazy to find more power, for a CR, that's retarded.

Sounds like you have a plan.

62/s400 would be a sweet combo for how you drive based on your posts. You need instant spool from a roll-on usually right?

Well, we did witness the first ever Ford to do over 450hp at this event. New 08 with DPF delete, ugly intake filter and a Spartin chip do 508/996. I'm possibly not to far off in saying he's top furd in Minnesota :)
