66/73/0.91 T4 over an HT3B w/22cm housing

I meant as a single guys were loving the spoolup and power vs one with .8 a/r, as far as the 3b, I don't know that much about them! sorry:bang I didn't realize they would flow that close together

yeah, i understand a .8 A/R, though his is a 1.1. worse as a single and even worse as a secondary.

I clarified later that it's a .91, slip of the mind my friends. That and I would have changed the thread title if that were possible (is it???)

thanks smokem.

Guys I will continue to read/research this topic, and regard each contribution with an open mind-

most ht3b's flow around 72-78 lb/min from what ive seen.

im sure theres some that are more,

but an s366 would do well over s480 or bigger

So what would be the largest recommended secondary over an HT3B?

What he said^^^if you use the HT3B as a primary. If you use the 66/73 put an S483 as a primary.

By your sig I assume this is going on a 12v. If that is the case a 3b with the little 22cm housing is going to struggle to get you to 700hp. If you must use the 3b go to the 26cm at a minimum. Anything from a S300G to a 62mm S300 would make good secondaries. If you want to make more power and want to use the 66/73 use at least a 480 and a GT47 would be better.

is there any consideration for a 50mm external gate on the 22cm housing to decrease the spool time? (and yes, 12v)

66/73/.91 A/R T4 is a great turbo as a single imo but mine is on a 02 with a vp44.

A wastegate doesn't effect spool up at all. It's only function is to divert drive pressure/exhaust around a turbine wheel.

That's a great top charger I run it now and it has great spool up but my primary is 480. I think a 26cm would work but I tend to go with borgwaner.style chargers just my 2 cents

think he is asking about using a large gate (between the two) so he can run the tighter housing on the primary which would decrease spool time

but why use that secondary if spool is ANY consideration in the first place?

that version of the 300 lites late on a street driven 12v

even as a single

can not imagine it in a twin set

even if it was properly matched with the primary

(and as mentioned it wont be)
