66/73/0.91 T4 over an HT3B w/22cm housing

yes the suggestion of using the external gate with the 22cm housing to "decreasing spool time" is based on comparing spool time of a tighter housing vs. a looser housing.

For the record I'm going to do what was suggested:
- get a smaller secondary and run the 3B
-OR-
- throw an S480 or 4B under the 66/73

I wanted to throw the topic around and, as my coworkers say about a possibly bad or offbeat idea, "shoot it full of holes" :D

yeah but his truck is light compared to most of us!

isnt it easier to stay under your charger going uphill than it is going downhill?

works the same way with weight

the reason towing twins are smaller than race twins is that tow vehicles typically fuel less than race vehicles...

and race vehicles leave the line at high rpm...not at idle

thats my take on it...maybe i am mistaken?

I think hes just saying if you have the fuel/rpms you can run bigger chargers without the horrible lag issues a lesser fueled/low stall truck would have.

that is correct carl...

mine finally shipped yesterday

have many concerns but lets just say that lag aint no weres near the top of the list

4 linked std cab? take it that is a track only truck huh hurley?

what you gonna run for tire?

I disagree, I believe a larger charger will light quicker on a lighter truck, because the time when the charger is spooling the light truck will move easier!

It's not track only, right now it's road only. Once I get a decent power setup I will do some racing, but for now it's a glorified cruiser. I built it as a fab project & learning experience, with hopes of it being mostly street with some strip.

Afterthought: why are you so concerned?

i dont know what hes saying either

more weight = more load on the motor = easier to light
sounds like you knew exactly what i was saying

lol

and it sounds like hurley now knows that 66/74 will work well with 700 fuel as a semi laggy single; around 1000 in a twin set

where is carls turbo suggestion chart?

thanks

ps - what is the most fuel you guys would throw at a tall ett 62/68/13 max ported over a 75/74-83/1.25 (t-4) towing set up if i wanted to screw around and beat up on it???

Afterthought: why are you so concerned?
asked weston about you...he said you are alright

that, and the fact that 700 just so happens to be the same number that i am (was?) shootin for

how did you edit w/o it saying it was edited?

If you edit within a certain time period after the post i think it doesn't add the time stamp... i think

and thanks for the clarification, as far as I'm concerned we are on the same page now.

If I choose to go with an S480, what would be a recommended A/R on the Exhaust? Can I go tighter and run an external gate (in hopes of maximizing spool time?

I suppose that all depends on desired power level/fueling/etc. nevermind ha
