Addition to Smokem's AFC SIMPLIFIED thread. Now locked.

i would want something that monitors rpm also. If i spent the money i would want something i could program to have Xboost at X rpm and Y boost imput

Why isn't he clearing it up then?

If he had a 160 id agree. He's a 180, I think.

We both really dont know how much it smokes, since we also have no idea on the condition of the boots, inter cooler, exhaust leaks etc its hard to tell exactly why he cant clear that fuel. but that turbo is more than up to that amount of fueling.

I have rack plug also now. It makes about 50-55lbs and it is no where near clearing it up. It is as clean as a prius from 10psi - 40 psi but anywhere near wide open 45-55 its just pouring smoke black out 3 lanes

I just installed 5x16s and its no different hopefully an ht4b under it will help.

ok now its over fueled :D

I guess the 158* 7x10 doesnt help either but the 7x10s were too much for it also.

I was expecting it with the 5x16s but it wasnt as clean as yours even when I had my 67/71/15 and 7x10s 191s.

Wide open smoke is expected but I'm looking to clean it up on the street. Looking for some 024s and a tst light to try something different. the 191s were worth about 10psi over the 181s with the 67mm hx52

A TST light or even medium won't help clear up smoke. You need something stiffer of the same length... 38mm. The stock governor spring from my 215 is 35.75mm but might be too stiff for u.

this is key!

This is the TST Medium spring. Unfortunately it's even too light for my stock injectors.

Full travel at 18 psi! The heavy spring is full tilt around 26-28 psi which is still too light for most and ends up being smokey in the mid range.

When you say heavy spring, are you talking about a 3rd spring? The tst spring kit I have came with 2 springs. The video I posted is of the heavier of the two.

For my set up, I'd prefer a spring to start moving at ~8-10psi and be fully open @ 35-38. :Cheer: I could throw a #10 plate in to clean up the mid-range smoke.

Where would you lock down the #10 ??

With my current afc spring? I'd start with the #10 plate full forward and work my way back from there. Being that I have stock 5x.010 injectors, full forward might work for me.

I was just walking through my shop and saw a toyota sienna wheel cylinder... Then thought, well damn, they have long yet narrow springs in them. Took it apart and the spring is 2 1/8" free length with a 1/2" outside diameter. Compressed height is 1/2". I might see if this will ride freely inside of my TST spring. :hehe: Worth a shot...

Throw some 181's or 131's in the pump and I bet it clears up a decent bit. My truck was as clean as anything I have seen at WOT with 181's. When I threw the 191's in, EGT's went from 1300* to pegging the gauge and smoke is pretty steady at WOT now.

Spring inside a spring with out a step retainer may get in between each others coils.. ??

I have something if it works outs will post pictures later this week..

Thanks!

Yes.. I'd definitely have to have a retainer on each end of some sort of bushing between the two.

I'll scrap that idea for the time being.
