ADR still won't turn 4k for me

What is with this? Why won't my truck turn over 3500? I tried the 2/4 tune, and the 3/3 tune, and neither will turn 4k.

First I tried the 2/4 tune and it killed the truck. Next I tried the 3/3 tune and it killed the truck. Both at 3100 rpms. Next I left the 3/3 tune in and backed my tps fueling on the pump and the canbus off so they didn't fuel as hard down low and it stop shutting the truck off, but now it pops and sputters after 3200 and won't turn past 3500. With every pop comes a big puff of smoke, so its still up against so limiter. I'm really getting aggravated with this thing.

I've seen drag comps still climbing power past 3200 on the dyno. I just took it out and turned o/d off and went from a 45mph roll and it didn't kill it ( I actually brought the low end fueling up a bit) and once it hit 3200, give or take 50 rpm, it started poping and bucking, so I hit o/d and the rpms came down and it was fine.

Your not the only one having issues, ever since the firmware update this thing has been a pain. Does it stop fueling for you randomly? I'll be just driving along normally and lose the wire tap, until I stop and restart it, and when it kills my truck it locks everything up until I physically go under the hood and unplug it, and plug it back in. The pulse stays lit up along with a few lights in the dash and the truck won't start until you cut power from it.

Not a lot fun when it happens on the road. I talked to them and they insist its a software issue that is being worked on. It also makes the truck throw a P1691 after it dies and when I dug around for that code I found a lot of xzt related threads. The thing was flawless before the update, now I'm starting to rethink it.

Mine done the same thing with the 4k comp tune last summer this winter i put one of the 2000 series tune and stacked my smarty with it and now it go past 4000 rpm.

i honestly think my truck would spin past 3600 if it wasnt origianlly an auto truck, it hits the hard fuel cut to save the trans.

My adrenaline will turn 3700-3800 on the 2000 series tunes. I don't like the comp tunes as much, especially with the killing the truck problem. Mine was originally a manual truck, but I am running auto electronics and it will turn those rpm's no problem.

I just thought of something. I haven't driven this truck in a while and I forgot about the loading a tune from the ADR to the pulse. I just uploaded those tunes to the ADR, and didn't do anything with the pulse. Do I have to pull the tune from the box to the pulse somehow? I probably used to be able to do it, but its been so long I can't remember....

I can't hit 4k without Smarty. My truck will do 3600-3800 at most before it starts sputtering. With Smarty, It doesn't seem to stop revving out. I've never really tried to see how far it will go....4242 was enough for me.

i had all kinds of problems out of my adr. it would turn 4k but would sputter and cut out BAD, it was a little smoother with my smarty

i hit 4285 in 4th gear with the original adr 4k tune (which i still have somewhere) and the smarty on lvl 3. that where it stoped =( time for a p pump

Yeah, the old tunes would pull further for me also. The tune I really like for DD is the one I used on the dyno....I forget the date, but it is the one Quad said fuels 70%. I still can't launch at 4k with it, but it makes great power above redline.

I'm running the 1000 series tune and my auto shifts at 3500 and has no sputtering or surging and if I lock out OD it'll go to 3800.

I might try the 1k and 2k tunes. All I've been running is the betas. I guess once you go into custom tuning it doesn't matter what the settings are?

I have had mine kill with custom tunes, I took the 2000 put pump stretch to 1950, boost scale to 25 and moved the min tps settings a little and it did the same thing the beta tune did at a high power setting, high rpm, it killed and won't start back up till i unplugged it.
