ADR still won't turn 4k for me

Seen alot of the problems with Dane's truck trying to fuel to 4000Rpms. He finally found a tune that will turn 4000Rpms but everynow and then like you said it will kill the truck. Don't know if it's running the pump dry with the aggressive fueling or what but usually takes a bit for it to start afterwards like it has air in the lines.

This is not sounding good! I hope i dont have all these problems with my quad! He was running the new 4k sled pulling tune!

I got rid of mine last fall, but I used to run the 2000 series tunes. I could hit 3500 rpm whenever I wanted to. I clicked off 3600 one time during a dry rev. I never ran it any higher than that on the stock springs, so I can't tell ya if it'll rev any higher than that with a 2000 tune.

could you be airlocking the fuel system theres a guy i know that runs bd towing twins, mach 7s, adr and is having a problem with airlocking the fuel system does it every once in awhile

I'm running Adrenaline CompF tune that I downloaded 10/25 and it will turn 3950 rpm on my truck. It fuels hard to 3500 then does the fuel, no fuel, fuel, no fuel, thing when you free rev it at the starting line.

I tried the new 4K tune and it killed my truck three times in one drive home and then I removed it. Once at 3200rpm, once at 3500, and once around 2800rpm. I thought I blew up my pump the first time it killed.

Also kind of weird but this tune would shut off the lift pump which is wired through a relay that runs off the factory lift pump harness. I have killed my truck a few times in the past with other fueling boxes but have never had the lift pump shut off. I really think it is something in the ECM that doesn't like the high rpm. I had to cycle the key a few times before the lift pump would actually turn on.

The 4K tune killed my truck once at 50mph and I cycled the key several times a tried to roll start the truck three or four times but couldn't get any fuel pressure. Has to be something in the ECM because after sitting a minute, I hit the key and lift pump cycled and it started without hesitation and zero roughness. The few times I have ran the rotor dry, it took a lot of cranking and/or cracked open lines to get it restarted.

I do not know the inner workings of the VP44 and ECM relationship but I suspect either one has the ability to shut down the motor.

i know it kills mine all the time... the 4k tune... every time i think i got it fixed... ill race some one...... and end up detting passed. while i am trying to start my truck....... with the new airdog spring. put in...... it hasnt dumped on me yet..... not saying it worked...... but it did help... bigger spring in the airdog150.... but once it dies on me agian.. i will go back to the 2000 tunes...

HOLD ON A SEC?

Is it killing your trucks because your fuel system cant supply enough fuel? Or is it to do with the quadzilla?

I see 24fuelpsi at WOT and around 28 at idle so maybe mine wont cut out and die halfway down the track?

Mine is with out a doubt the box. It worked flawlessly for 8 months, then I did the firmware update and the new tunes and its been nothing but a PITA ever since. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me.

Doesn't even do it with the BD RAD on. 3241 rpm...then silence...:bang

when the adr was killing my truck...it was everything but silence...

more to the tune of, "what the $%*# you gotta be abso$%*#inlutely fist $%*#in me right now"

mine did the same thing as what big blue24 is describing, and i had around 14psi at WOT when it shut the truck down. The older, original comp tune was the bomb digity. Had all the power and smokei could ask for. After i updated the new firmware and started running the newer tunes, it just doesn't feel as strong, and if it does feel just as strong, the son of a gun will die on me. And if i go back to running that old comp tune, it will void my warranty. What gives??

There's no f'in way that a 150gph pump can't keep up with the adrenaline. Heck, a 95gph pump is more than a VP would ever need. Now I could see if you had a weak VP that couldn't keep up and you air locked the lines but that's it.

My problem is not an air lock situation. Once the lift pump comes back online it fires right up like nothing happened. So whats it gonna take to get some new software theat doesn't do this? Surely they can make a firmware that doesn't catch on fire and doesn't kill the truck?

You would think! Ill have my truck back this weekend, im going to start fideling with it now!

it was just a shot in the dark... did i say it fixed it..no i said it helped.. it hasnt killed over yet.. i am not hitting 4k.. but when i jump on it now.it gets looser then what it did.. .. i was thinking.. more fuel pres ment more fuel in the pump.. so when ???hp asked for it.. it was there....... i dont know... that why i dont have DIESEL PRO by my name...it may be that i need a vp44... but that what i was told. that it was not getting enuff fuel .. that was by quad...

Oh I'm not criticizing you in the least. Sorry it came out that way. Just saying that it's not possible for a 95gph or a 150gph to not be able to supply enough fuel.

Out of curiosity, what is your FP at WOT before and after the spring?

It's the Adren. that kills the truck, not lack of fuel. From what I can remember of my days Beta testing, it has something to do with the factory rev limiter and the Adren. "arguing" with each other. It's been ahwile, but I think that's what he told us at one time.
Surely they can make a firmware that doesn't catch on fire
From what I understand, the overheating issue can be solved by downloading any tune from 10/21/08 or newer.
10/21/2008 - New updates fix the module overheating issues,
If you do not use those tunes and your box burns up then it is not covered under warranty since you did not download the updated tune.
That came straight from Quad.
