I'm getting a new hot rod vp for my truck, and i was wonder in which is better the fass or air dog

from what ive heard the air dog comes with a lifetime warranty other wise they are about the same

Starting in 2008 FASS offers a lifetime warranty on all of their new pumps. Personally, I prefer the FASS. It's been around, it's been proven, their tech support is second to none, and they work great.

Personally the Airdogs are a pain in the pu$$ to install. Done only one and it will be the last. Not to mention the mounting point behind the t/case. Who in the right mind puts a pump there so you have to remove the pump to service the t/case.

FASS is a heck of alot easier and straight forward.

yeah.... i hear the airdogs don't make the crappy sounds my FASS does. I have been thouroughly disappointed with all the sounds and crap coming from my FASS. it seems to be hit and miss. i have the 200gph one.

Your pissed about the noise a 200gph pump makes? Not to be a ***** but I mean come on. A 200gph pump is gonna make noise. I've heard 90gph holley's make more noise than a 150gph FASS. It takes a big motor to drive 200gph and big electric motors are gonna make noise I don't care who makes it. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the pump does it's job and is supplying fuel to the motor who cares what it sounds like.

It must be dang loud to hear it over all of that. If it's that loud and noisy I'd get a hold of dan and see if he could help.

I like my FASS 150, had it since 2004 I think. And their customer service is second to none.

Remove the pump in order to drain the T Case or remove the T Case?

There's not much room in that area on a short bed truck, so I can see it being a challenge to mount something if it's going on the inside of the frame rail. The FASS installs I've seen, the guys put it on the outside of the rail.

the air dog imo isnt hard to install very easy and its better protected inside the frame rail, i love how mine works and with enough fuel to kill a yak it only drops about 2 psi. and i still have enough room to remove my t-case and serive it.. where exactl did you mount yours there are really only 2 spots on a short bed.

Let's face it they are almost identical pumps. Either one is going to be a good choice. I've heard good things about both pumps.

I would hit the FASS as well. The 150 makes some noise, but if you want to go to a quiet pump, stick with the stock one.

You have to pay to play.

Doesnt the Air Dog come with 1/2" lines and fittings whereas the FASS only comes with 3/8"? That would be a big selling factor for me.

I've seen 600hp trucks running 3/8" lines and fittings with their fass and only drop 2psi. I highly doubt the extra 1/8" is gonna make a big difference.
