Another rusty ugly budget drag truck

I could see that; however many utilize rear swaybars to preload the suspension too (from one side to the other).

Idk if that was directed toward me but I don't plan on upgrading shocks. I'm so cheap I reused rings and bearings when I had the motor apart.

Competed in a little burnout contest last night.

Some more fuel on the way.

Plan on using two of these housing one with fuel water separator and the other a regular fuel filter. I'm thinking after the pump so the electric pump doesn't have to suck through them. Run a -8 push lock from sump to pump and then through filters to stock lift pump. Wire it to come on with ignition. I can suck air through it so I believe the truck will still run with it off or if it fails.

The 52 cleans these 5x.016 up nicely. I might look to upgrade after I see how it runs with more pressure.

What is the Pn on the filter housing I have been looking for that at work with no luck

I was first up and let off after about 45seconds. This ford went after me and put out more tire smoke thanks to a faster wheel speed I think. Had I let him go first I would have known to put on a better show. I was prepared to pop the tires, I brought the slicks to throw on it to get it back on the trailer if they popped.

IMO, I would run the electric pump in parallel with the lift pump (add a check valve to keep it from back-flowing), and plumb the sump to the lift pump as well.

This electric pump is the black china knockoff. It is supposed to make around 10-15psi. Big blue ran his in series and noticed an estimated 75whp. Everything I have copied from him thus far has worked well so I was going to do the same. He used a draw straw and teed into the stock feed. I want to run the -8 from sump to electric pump to factory lift pump with factory fuel system after the factory pump, also factory return. I think I'm going to run a fuel water sep filter after my electric pump and also the stock filter.

I run that pusher pump to a tee into my stock pump. Fuel pressure never goes below 30psi wot when it's on. I only turn it on when I'm racing. I'm gonna keep pushin to see how much power I can get with it.

I got some big boy injectors when you wanna upgrade. lol I got my eye on some other set ups. I wanna run as many injector and turbo set ups as I can. lol

I discovered a crack on the turbine housing where I had the wastegate flange welded on. I'm looking for a stock housing since I wasn't using the gate anyway, anyone has one for sale let me know. Meanwhile I threw an hx40 on to keep the truck useable and would like to get it to the track and see how it does with the baby turbo. It's making 45psi. Street manners are so much better. The exhaust note is quieter and has a whistle. It makes 5psi in normal driving and no smoke! I like it so far but fear it's much slower. I will spray it at the track but would like a but more for the street. Maybe I will get a 62 or 64 on it one day.

I was running 5x.016 sac and hx52 also. Also I noticed above 45psi egts would climb faster. I had it gated a little over 60 /63 psi and would run clean and 1600 degrees good luck with the build

Those 5x016's clean up better on your truck than they ever did on my truck with the 472looks good man!

A little update:
Been working on and racing my "Racecar" so the "racetruck" is on the back burner although I have been daily driving it for months.

The lift pump is in the truck in series to stock lift pump. Runs just fine with the electric pump turned off and 50-55psi on the fuel gauge at idle, with the pump on it jumps to 70-75psi. I sourced a replacement turbine housing from goldfarb and am having it machined to accept hx40 downpipe. Should have that housing back this week. I really want to park the truck for a bit and cut it in half for a shortbed swap but have a bunch of other **** going on. The transmission is in need of an overhaul. Truck still drives fine and shifts through all the gears but it does slip in od and lockup above about 15lbs of boost. I haven't decided which avenue to go for the trans rebuild. I have a neighbor with 30+ years auto experience and has a trans table in his garage but he doesn't build race trans for a living, he does stock rebuilds at a gm dealership. I also may use a local shop duro trans who does a lot of the cummins truck locally making power and comes highly recommended. I would really like to use big guns/big blue/will terry since he is so knowledgable on these trans for racing and he seems like a great guy to do business with but that adds shipping to the equation. I bought a twisted billet input and am unsure if I want to use it since it looks a bit rusty. I only plan on running a billet input with the other shafts stock and not locking the converter till after the second gear shift so it should hold. That reminds me I need a converter also $$$. Just too much other **** going on right now. I took some time to plastidip the grill and headlights and roof to mask the lack of paint. I also built a rollpan. When I pull the bed and cut the frame I will also paint the truck, leaning toward a simple black or white paintjob. Almost forget I installed 1500 v6 front springs to lower the front and pulled the swaybar. Has a little more body roll now but the way I drive I don't mind.
