Anybody done a sport conversion?

I'm toying around with the idea of slapping on a black sport grill on my truck, but I keep seeing this:

Fits Sport models only. This grill is slightly larger than the standard Dodge Ram Pickup Truck Grilles


anybody know what the difference is?

i just put a sport grill on my truck and it does hang lower the hood wouldnt shut so i had to modify my bumper a little looks Mucho better!! i have a custom bumper so just a little cutting and welding fixed it! wouldnt know what to do with a stock bumper unless u got the sport one also

You could get regular unpainted grill and paint it black.

Tim, If you considering the sport headlamps its definalty worth it. I have them with whatever the brightest bulbs that advance auto parts sells. They're bright enough to flash morse code to the freakin space station.

I'm thinking about going with blacked out lamps... I am sick of shiny lights, grill, etc.

Brian, IIRC it was in 00 or 01 that they changed to that other sport grille that swoops down.

Same here but, Im rocking these until I paint the truck. Im pretty sure you will need the grille frame for the 99-02 grille. They list different part numbers for the sport/non-sport.

On edit: the swoopy grilles debut was 99

your truck looks frickin identical to my 98 sport I just sold, mine was painted Viper Red and I did the sport grille/bumper conversion...
When I sold it it had smoked headlights, marker lights, and fogs...

Best looking trucks ever, IMO. The sport bumper really makes a 2nd gen.
