No, I believe they dont use CNG....But 9lbs of NO2 per pass is quite a LOT!!!!!!

it would be an awesome build an i think that everyone would overlook it if it smoked or not . it would be a big statement in sledpulling that would draw a bigger crowd to Diesel events around the country

Sure, but what they are doing works.

How do you figure??There are much quicker trucks racing that are using no drugs...especially not 3 bottles a pass. Somebody get this smoke free moron a banks wrap for his truck and a PDA to go along with it. I say build it Banks because I feel confident you will not be competitve.

Am I the only one that sees two main sides to this?
If they build it and it doesn't go "smoke free", then they are proved wrong.
If they build it and it does go "smoke free", then they will be at the top laughing because now they have the EPA eating out of their hands. They are already in all the truck mags downing everyone Else's stuff because its "dirty". The EPA already approves their chit over others. If they prove to all of you that they can do the same job with no smoke, what do you think will happen? Soon after all sled pullers will be being pushed to stop pumping black smoke also.
Is that what you want?

I say don't even bother.

I say try it out. They have there fingers in everything else, why not this glass of koolaid too. They better come out on top with the money and resources that they have, so good luck to them.

I"m curious as to hear about these much quicker trucks with no nitrous..... feel free to name names, I'm drawing a blank, (although it could be the beer, considering it's almost 4am here.) :bang

they have never used cng thats what they say but will they ever say what was is that carbon fiber bottle that didnt have a bottle warmer it wasnt nitirous i know that i dont think they would attempt a sled pulling truck they cant use their favorite indgridents nitrous and cng

was this on the s-10 drag truck? i talked to the crew out at TS last year when i was looking over the truck (which, BANKS built or not, is an impressive piece of machinery) and I was told the smaller carbon fiber bottles without warmers were for a CO2 pusher system used to help keep the nitrous pressure up because it drops quick when you are using that much. i have never heard of this before but thats what I was told.

Wouldn't that be a pita if they did build a smoke free truck that actually competed. They would spend a million dollars on it just to say they did, and expect everyone else to do the same even if it was trashing motors every other pull.

yup thats it ,one billion dollar puller with 40,000 man hrs into it......and you can to,yes with banks and only banks.we were the first into the 9s bla bla bla sled puller bla bla bla....we bla only banks bla bla.

I agree. It would be a great way to help promote the sport of diesel sled pulling. Banks is probably the most known company in diesel performance, and for them to build a truck for pulling would really catch the attention of alot more people.

I disagree. What would happen is they would do what they normally do, flog it with nitrous or some other concoction, head for TV and the mags and brag about how wonderful smoke free is,(even when its not Diesel)try tyo get the rules changed to suit them, and then WHINE that they are outlawed because the real pullers are scared.

The masses have no clue on the why what where, of TRUE Diesel sled pulling power, and it would turn into a huge Diesel bash fest.

Water and Number#2, bring it. Anything else, keep it on the drag strip.

Besides that, Banks only puts money into show/race trucks that will help him sell to his customer base. Sled Pulling is not his base.

He'll risk that a racer may get by him someday, (fat chance) but he could not STAND 50 hilljack farmers blowing his doors off on the pulling track.

What would happen if a few years down the road the EPA says: "No visible smoke on or off the track"

Would pulling rules change to allow nitous or would we just stop pulling diesels?

Mike when that happens i believe NASCAR, NHRA, SEMA, and all the race tracks, circle and straight, will be gone........OTR trucks will have to be banned from the road ways, along with farm equipment, heavy equipment, and alot of other polluting vehicles.

gale doesn't even deserve a thread like this talking about him. He is not one to support the future of diesel motor sports. DIESEL MOTORSPORTS has nothing to do with nitrous or fuel efficiency. He's a traitor if you will, and the more ironic part, is he has stolen all his funding from the unsuspecting diesel truck driving victims of his marketing.

And to have banks and sled pulling in the same sentence makes me cringe. It's the only real DIESEL motor sport left, other than the elite few fuel only drag racers.

Right you are.
Thats why I voted "no thanks". Banks is a trademark not a person in my book. Kinda like every truck is a "mack" truck to anyone who is up on it.
It would just be another way to manipulate the customer.
Besides, Gene's (Sledpuller) coming back on the scene, how many bullseyes do you guys need? :hehe:

Banks is kinda like a Hummer H3, started off as a good concept (H1 military) then when it went to the public masses became just a lot of money for a name and not much else
