Nice post glass, I fully agree. I had my doubts, but I went and saw it run last year at TS and met the Banks crew and they didn't shy away from anything I had to ask them.
Aint worth the time to watch. I dont even like seeing there s10 nor there new rail run. If I wanted to watch big blocks id go to an NHRA event. Not hateing on banks just dont think either truck is a diesel.
That's fine, continue to live and think inside that tiny little box you live in. Whether you like it or not Banks has pretty much backed up everything they said the Type-D would do, yet there are still the idiotic doubters that don't have enough sack space for two nuts to just go up the banks guys at an event and ask them to show you.

I don't like or dislike Banks over any race team out there but I love this conspiracy theory that the engines they run aren't diesel powered and no one has had enough balls to go see for themselves. I've seen several posts from banks employees inviting anyone to come check there tank for this magical fuel everyone talks about. I do admit, there isn't another diesel that sounds like the sidewinder, but then again, not too many Dmax engines going 7000+. Why doesn't someone just check, and either find something, or put it to rest? $.02

For what it's worth, anyone calling doubt about the Banks Dmax's sound must be deaf when they go around straight piped 6.0's, there isn't any other diesel I know of that sounds more like a gasser than a 6.0. Hmm....maybe all 6.0 owners really fill them with gasoline and it's one giant conspiracy......:hehe:

That tiny little box you speak of, is where people like Greg Hogue and Gale Banks live, that take a Diesel engine, throw all the advantages of it out the window and make it run as close to a gasser as possible.

Fun to watch, impressive, great marketing tool, sure all of those.

But at the end of the day, calling it an advancement for Diesel technology is a stretch.

Show me clean burn competitive Diesel technology with electronics, overhead cams, variable turbos, etc and I'll scream the loudest from the mountain tops, that Banks is a Diesel King.

Until then, flogging it with nitrous to go fast, is just another drag car, amongst the hundreds that are already out there.$.02

I didn't think there would be anywhere near as much interest in Banks building a sled puller as you guys just showed me.

Highfinance, you're right about all the past racing ventures being new to us before we tried them. However, they're a little easier to get into, at least in my opinion. I want to elaborate on that, but my brains not quite working right, but I'll address it later.

To anyone and everyone that wonders "What's in those bottles?" I'll say it again: NITROUS OXIDE. That's it...well, other than the small amount of air that may be left from when they were first filled. That's it, just nitrous. There is no CNG, no propane, no methane, no alcohol, no koolade, nothing other than good old 75ppm sulfur dioxide NITROUS. (75ppm sulfur dioxide is the industry standard so people don't huff the nitrous)

Now, after hearing all the interest (and hatred) I feel like this is something we should do, at least with a shop truck and compete in one of the stock type classes. Will it happen? I can't say. I can say that there had been plans in the past for a "Grass Roots" style project that would be competitive in various types of racing and would be comparable to a Diesel Power Challenge style truck. That project and those plans, however, were put on hold to address more serious racing ventures (the dragster) and other projects that would provide more products for sale.

I would like to see the truck we had plans for turned into a decent sled puller and drag truck, but I couldn't say definitively that it will happen, at least not in the near future.

I'll keep you guys updated if I find out anything.

The pullers don't hate anyone, and I am quite sure I speak for all of us, if you guys have any questions about building a puller, feel free to ask in the pulling section or pm.

As long as its not asking to run nitrous!!!!:thankyou2:LOL

If they build one Timbeaux will be asking them where they hid the bottle. :hehe:LOL

It depends on what you consider smoke. When there is a flame at the end of the pipe and it's grey smoke then it's running as efficient as it possibly can.. I.E. New scheid mod truck and corey atleys truck. Extremely clean burn.

I say dont bother. All thats gonna happen is their gonna throw their over priced 126hp big hoss kit on there with a lot of custom stuff that the average joe cant get, and then whine when they get whooped on by and overfueled 12v. Dont get me wrong i think banks has some cool stuff, their twin ram is sweet, but its also over priced and underpowered.
