BANKS!!!!!! Build the masses a Sledpuller!!!

Is there a big enough "draw" for BANKS to build a Sled puller?

It's the gassers who "Darwin'd" their motors and sent debris everywhere (personally seen it). People still remember guys cheating and blowing up their motors in the 80's.

I agree Nitrous and bigger turbo essentially due the same thing but they do it in different ways (which I know I don't have to explain to you). Can a turbo be oversped and blow...Yes, but it hasn't happened as many times as someone over nitrousing (our hitting the button too soon) and causing carnage.

As stated earlier perception is reality. Many insurance companies and "old farts" view nitrous as dangerous and therefor it has been limited in certain arenas.

If we could guarantee we would not see people doing stupid things then it might stand a chance, but I doubt that will ever happen (i.e. the reason we have Darwin awards).

My personal feeling is that nitrous should not be allowed on the pulling track. As others have stated there is no way of being able to easily and effectively categorize trucks.

Our club is a non-profit entity and we have insurance, but somebody with a good enough lawyer can still come after me as I'm listed as President. We have enough things that can go wrong and I'm not willing to put my balls, house, truck, etc on the line for some idiot with a bottle.... I know some people don't care about others or how their actions effect others, but I know most would feel similar as I do if they had to literally put their balls on the line for other people's actions.

As for Banks, I don't think you'll see it as they wouldn't be able to be competitive and make clean power with No. 2 and H20, and would end up being hipocrits if they dropped their smoke free attitude to be competive.

It would be a lose, lose proposition for them.
 
i have never been to a sled pull, never seen a live drag race between 2 diesel trucks on the 1/4 mile, why because i'm from Hawaii. we don't have it here.

but given all this bs about rules, power adders, class and so on......

everybody knows that black smoke is unused diesel that if could be used would provide alot more power.

sled pulling is not a new motor sport but i would love to see what happens when knowledge, technology, science, and $$$ combined would do to better the performace outcome of a pure no. 2 diesel sled truck.

we all know that r n d cost $$$$ let banks do it so we all can learn from it.

so i voted YES. build it!

the reason there's so much black smoke in sled pulling is cause the turbos are limited to a certain size, and when that happens guys will keep throwing more fuel into that tiny turbo (proportionally tiny compared to the fuel) until the power start decreasing...
and in diesel drag racing it is starting to become common to see smokeless 10 second trucks because people are starting to tune their trucks to be smokeless

The ironic part of this statement is a PULLING engine is holding the drag racing record right now.

Somebody call Agstremely hooked and inform him his truck runs without knowledge, technology, science or money.

The masses really need to educate themselves outside of the colored glossy magazine ads.

Dennis's boat cannot pull the sled! It has nitrous!! He'd have to disconnect all the lines and remove the bottle and I'm sure he wouldn't do that just so those hawaians can see what a sled is!:doh:
 
Banks could not build a smokeless truck to compete with the current rules. No one is going to conform their rules to help banks out with the nitrous part of it, so they would be wasting their money and still getting their butt handed to them IMO.
 
To tell you the truth, I think there are tractor pullers out there that are throwing just as much money at their tractors as banks is at their trucks.......


Im kinda torn on this now, if he doesnt build a puller, not much is gonna change and pulling will move on.

If Banks does build a puller, he will throw a large amount of money at the Orgs to get them to change their rules so that smoke is illegal and he can have 40lb NO2 bottles in the truck. And then every sled is gonna have the BANKS Power Pack and be able to out pull the pullers.........

Aint worth the time to watch. I dont even like seeing there s10 nor there new rail run. If I wanted to watch big blocks id go to an NHRA event. Not hateing on banks just dont think either truck is a diesel.

I don't like or dislike Banks over any race team out there but I love this conspiracy theory that the engines they run aren't diesel powered and no one has had enough balls to go see for themselves. I've seen several posts from banks employees inviting anyone to come check there tank for this magical fuel everyone talks about. I do admit, there isn't another diesel that sounds like the sidewinder, but then again, not too many Dmax engines going 7000+. Why doesn't someone just check, and either find something, or put it to rest? $.02

X2...I stood next to the S10 last year at TS when they were running it on the stands...it's diesel, just different;)

I saw a little puff of smoke even when they hit it...when they hit the throttle on that thing, it will literally take your breath away;)

I'm not a fan of the advertising and marketing of the products, but the truck runs, and the guys who crew it are top notch, and seem to be normal, run-of-the-mill gearheads...well, as normal as any of us!

lol i think it's hilarious how people think that it's a gasser OR that they have loads of CNG.... this is just what a dmax would sound like running 7000rpm... money can accomplish anything and banks has shown that... hell they don't even use that much nitrous going down the track, most of its used to spool INSTANTLY and without any smoke and then they're probably just throwing in a small amount the whole way down... they only have 2 bottles on the truck, and that's to keep consistent pressure...
i'm definitely not a fan of the banks marketing team but the race team is an entirely different division that seems to respect the other guys out there... quit all this immature BS about banks not being diesel or making up more rumors... it's getting VERY tiring to hear it at least once a page...
