Looking at the comp 26120 beehive spring which is 155# closed and 377# open but can't seem to find a Ti retainer that is only 1.095 OD, so I would run a steel retainer with this setup.

Also looking at the comp dual spring 977 which is basically a 1.460" spring that is 155# closed and 419# open. Ti retainers are easy to find for these.

Which setup would be more forgiving on my cast cam, yet let me turn 5-5500. Cam right now is just a ham 181-210.

Fully ported 12 valve head with intake valves in the exhaust and bigger intake valves. Factory rockers and 24v tappets. Should be sub 100psi.

Also has anyone ordered pushrods from Trend? Don't really know what cup size a 12v pushrod is. While I'm here, discuss the differences between 930036315, 930036515, 930036415, 930036615 Mahl pistons. 47cc/16.5 cr, 52cc/15.3 cr, 54cc/14.9cr, 59cc/14.0 cr, respectively. I do know the last two are flycut .150". I don't know if these are variants of the 286210 or 286110 or not.

Sorry for the information overload. Throw back a couple shiners and shoot back with what you've got! :Cheer:

If I recall the pushrods have 10mm cups on them. Been awhile, and the ones I ordered were for a 24V.

Ran dual spring on my cast cam wore lobes switched to Hamilton springs and push tubes...

Anyone have any experience with the new tool steel scalloped retainers from comp cams? 2-4 grams heavier than Ti and about half price.

Trend makes a very nice product, Smith Bro's and Manton are also good

What do you call the 10* keepers that fit these cummins valves? They are a radius type keeper instead of having a step. The cummins keepers have a single raised bead.

12 valve pushrods are 3/8 ball and cup

24 valve pushrods are 10mm ball and cup

So if you are running 24 valve lifters in a 12 valve the cup is 3/8 and the ball is 10mm. I am going with 7/16" .120" wall pushrods all around.

both 12 valve and 24 valve use a 10 mm ball and cup.

I've made over 20,000 of them.

as to retainers
Until you are well over 5000 rpms the weight of titanium over steel is not really a factor.

I also have a 3/8 7/16 3/8 tapered wall push rod in custom lengths here is what they look like, this are a little pricey at $21 a piece and not needed unless you running a mod truck so I recoment the Billet 3/8’s push rod for $15

Nice piece there Greg! That's pretty wild... so, what exactly is the benefit of tapering them? Seems it'd make them weaker than if they were straight? I've gotta be missing something that's right about to hit me in the face! :D

Increases strength and stiffness in the lower critical area where the load is the greatest. Our pushrods are tapered as well for this reason.

a 7/16 streight would be a little heavy, so we take our standard 3/8's and make it bigger in the center.
