What is the best 2.6 charger used only for pulling on a 12 valve? Need peoples input. And no its not the silver bullet. Great charger on the common rails but just not the cats meow on a 12V. Let me know.

i HAVE A FRIEND RUNNIN HIGH TECH'S PRO STREET 66-71-14. iT'S HELD UP FOR 2 LONG SEASONS AND SUPER HIGH EGTS OVER 2100 AND BEARINGS ARE STILL TIGHT. HE DYNOED AT LIKE 762 ON DIESEL ONLY WITH IT. IT'S BEEN A AWESOME CHARGER FOR HIM

Silver bullet does the best that I have seen. I have had numerous chargers on my truck and I felt the SB was just slightly better than the prostreet66. There are other chargers that should better, but it is gonna take some research and creativity. Off the shelf best 66mm is probably gonna be a silverbullet, with the prostreet 66 right behind it.

Thanks lol I agree I love my Bullet

I love the bullet as well but he asked about other turbos not the bullet. Oh, and my friends truck performs very well he has won quite a few times in his class

I measured a II SB the other day and the inducer bore was too large for our 2.6" rules....passed a 2.650" slug. A couple thou over....

Well a friend just put an HX52 (65mm) on last night. That went well for about 10min. After the engine was warm he busted into it. The charger lit then at only 40psi it desinigrated the compressor wheel. Not sure what to think. The nut was pinned and it didnt go anywere just the wheel was blown apart and split. It sent the silencer ring and snap ring out through the air box and blew that apart as well. Over all not a good experiance with the HX52. Ive herd of guys blowing them apart over 60psi and one at 80psi with no external gate but never 40. Im guessing it was just a freak thing ??

hx 52's are off of volvo semi applications and there was another guy on here awhile back that desinigrated one real quik but Im pretty sure he didi it with a shot of nos.

Do you mean Pro52? I thought that was a 2.8" or 71mm charger?

Yes the PRO 52 has a 71mm wheel. This is an HX52 same thing smaller wheel. Both have the same shaft and the same problem with the nut backing off. Once its pinned I here they are great unless you over speed them running no WG. But this one Im talking about I guess is a freak thing. My best guess is somthing hit the wheel, dont know what or how as it was running a filter and should have been clean inside the box, but anything is possible.
Yes they are on the Volvo engines, seen hundreds at work on skids and in the scrap room due to something stupid like a dented compessor housing or exh flange. I work at the powertrain plant in Hagerstown MD. Another charger that looked good was a Garrett that they used for over seas non emessions engines but I dont remember the part #s.

I would like to run the charger up around 60psi if possible. Dont know how that will work out. Dont have it out for II. Just heard SB wasnt so great on a 12V for some reason. Heard its bad a** on common rails. And that turbo would be to obvious. Cause IF i have an II product i want to make sure nobody knows it. And the silver would give it away. Have someone calling around for me and going to let me know what i can have made from scheids
