Best 2.6 pulling Turbo

500.00 isn't that bad, or 300.00 for a billit aluminium one that flows more than the stocker is a pretty cheap investment.

The turbine wheel is still restrictive on the SB, the Titanium wheels are $$ and heavy but durable.

So lets say I can get a 95.8/88 turbine wheel on it, and a larger turbine housing. I know I am asking all sorts of what if's but lets jsut say what if.

s300 66mm ETT compressor and a 95.8/88 exhaust wheel with say a .9 a/r. Would it be better than the s465? See a durability or shaft issue?

Depends on your options, do you think you can stay on top at the big end?

I ran an s400 3.0 non ETT with 3.2 turbine wheel with a .9 a/r. I was able to get down to almost 3000 before it would snuff the charger. I am trying to come up with an option that will allow me to run 4200 or so. I don't plan on running 4200 down the track, but I have an auto and plan on hitting it between shifts. In my experience the larger turbine wheels light a little slower, but seem to let you go down further in the rpm band before you loose your boost(fall off the charger). Am I totally off base there?
Just seems to me if I could get an s300 with the 66mm ETT and have a similar turbine housing and wheel, the s300 would be the better option over an s465 correct? Obviously it might cost more than an s465, but the results would be better hopefully.

What are the differences between a race cover and a standard cover?

I know there is a inch in diameter and have better spool up and air volocity LOL but I am not sure what the ar is I will look at our race cover charger we have at the shop and let ya know what it is.

Yea, spring river is too close and I think that is the rules that I think they are gonna adapt.

Bigger compressor covers are like bigger turbine housing may b slow on spool but better on the top end so for pulling yr WIDE OPEN from start to near the end so usally bigger is better when comparing very close wheels to size housing , personly I would have a custom 66 made out of a GT45 if $ was no object

the pic in my avator is 2.5 charger with a big housing the small one is a T04 charger

because they have very big pockets hell I probably couldn't evan carry there wallet LOL. besides somebody has to pay for them to run like that.

Well hopefully they can make me the baddest of the bad 2.6. Cause im on it. HOOKED you talked to them and seen if they can make up the baddest of the bad for me yet?

I am with Rod on this. Scheid makes some good stuff, but it is $$$. If you do some research you will find better turbos for cheaper prices. Besides what fun is it to just right checks to Scheid? If your gonna do that you might as well just take your truck to them and say build it. I feel it is alot more rewarding to do the research, find something that works and probably pay less for it.

What happened to the lightning that I sold you?

I would look elsewhere, unless your just wanting to pay more than something is worth. What happened to the lighting I sold you?

As Rod said you need a cherry picker to carry his wallet :poke:.

I still have that charger. But with the rule change. Its either go to 3.0 class or drop to 2.6. Made a few changes sold a pump or 2 without even running them. As well as turbos. Now im ready to start getting my truck set up for 2.6. Havent even ran that lightning 1 time. Just sits in the truck screaming "Spin me Spin me" But to no avail

Yes the PRO 52 has a 71mm wheel. This is an HX52 same thing smaller wheel. Both have the same shaft and the same problem with the nut backing off. Once its pinned I here they are great unless you over speed them running no WG. But this one Im talking about I guess is a freak thing. My best guess is somthing hit the wheel, dont know what or how as it was running a filter and should have been clean inside the box, but anything is possible.
Yes they are on the Volvo engines, seen hundreds at work on skids and in the scrap room due to something stupid like a dented compessor housing or exh flange. I work at the powertrain plant in Hagerstown MD. Another charger that looked good was a Garrett that they used for over seas non emessions engines but I dont remember the part #s.

I have three Volvo / Holset HX52's I was thinking about using on my truck since the measurement seems to be right at 2.6". But I cant find any information on it other than it is a 16cm2 housing. Youre saying the exhaust wheel is 65mm correct? I thought they were a 67/71/16 turbocharger although this is information I accumulated from seperate sources. Although all three do have silencer rings in them.

I'm interested in what your friend used for a exhaust flange to the manifold and exhaust pipe to fit the housing. I am having a hard time finding either.

I'm really hoping I can use one on my 12 valve since I have so many just sitting around. But it also sees alot of street time, so I dont want it to be a pig off the line.

What sort of hp can a 2.6" turbo support on #2 alone? How much less than a 2.8" turbo? Generally speaking...
