Big Money Pullers

with a big enough check book it can be done (for a while anyway). I've seen it first hand with a guy that pulls around my area. I don't think it's right, but it all comes around.

There is no better feeling that building it yourself and beating the guy that just dropped another 10k from the week before at a shop. :kick:

Yea but when it comes to headwork, I would not enjoy sitting at a bench for 40 hours working on a head. I will pay to have that done.

I agree but it is priceless when the budget built motor out performs the guy who spent three times as much for a turnkey motor and has no idea how to use it.

I agree...Just for giggles, is the engine in that 2.6/2.8 truck a budget build, because it runs like an ape that John Holmes got ahold of. lol

Hence that is what I asked what someone thinks a budget build is. I mean you can get a turn key motor from scheid for about $50K. So if someone spends $20K they may classify it budget.

I think if you obviously have the money to run a bigger class you shouldnt be in the 2.6 class. you shouldnt be building 80k dollar 2.6 street trucks, for 80k you could have a bad ass 2.8 or even 3.0 truck... these people know who they are. also if you run a certain class all the time do not drop down a class just because you can bush your turbo or something dumb...

Best POST of the Day. You spoke the truth! It's like the guys with these big money trucks got the big head because they can dominate a class. Step up to the plate where you belong!

I know a guy who does this all the time. :rules:

We all know, It takes alot of money to pull in general, and even more to be competitive. But, there are some people taking it to the extreme. Is it bad on the sport when some competitors just throw tens of thousands into a 2.6 puller? NO Or Just write a check to "so and so" for 1000+horsepower? NO Are they killing the sport or making it better? IF YOU LOVE THE SPORT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE NO MATTER WHAT

Please don't bash me, just looking for opinions.

I am not very old so I cant say for sure but it seems like motorsports has always been about competing no matter what it takes? No sense in complaining about how much joe blow spends, I know if I had unlimited funds and read this I would go dump more money into my truck to beat you by that much more.

I agree to disagree, if you have th emoney to run mod truck dont be a dick and drop to 2.6 or even 2.8 and build a truck.... just plain dumb, I will call you a ringer to your face..hahah

thats about like rigging the special olympics!

I overheard a guy a few years back *****ing because of the purpose-built "trailer queen" burnout trucks showing up at hotels. He was all like "Damn man, yew gawta spend crazy muney to keep up with them high-dollur motors in 'nim burnout trucks....... Kint jis' dew it with a flip chip anymoar....... "

Ruining the sport I tell you.....

Well maybe somebody should complain because your pulling with a truck that is worth $20K in stock form compared to theirs that is worth $7500 in stock form. That should bump you up to the next class right? I mean you just went out and spent alot more money on a truck than the guy who spent $7500 and then paid $20K to have an engine built for the 2.6 class.

Perhaps you should participate in the special olympics, because that is one of the most retarded statements I have ever seen.

I have no dog in this hunt....but from an outsider looking in....

....Everything is a business,...everyone likes money,...

With that being said...if a business owner can drop serious coin in a build, and get awesome press as being one of the top dogs in the country....that's good for business right?

Especially if he is savy enough to use the vehicle as advertising,..and can use it as a tax write-off....

Business is business, and it takes money to make money...

What good ol' boys do for fun,..others are business smart ....and find a way to further their financial situations, which benefit their childrens college funds...

Again...I'm just an outsider looking in.

THAT WAS A RETARDED STATEMENT:cheer:

as far as me spending 20k on a 06 truck, im talking theres guys who have 60k in there builds besides the truck. I could care less what we argue over it not going to change but I like arguing so Im going to keep voicing my opinion, this guy wanted it so there it is. it should be called 2.6 pro.:rockwoot:

and that reply has nothing to do with my statement about people dropping down with money to build pro-mod trucks....

Congrats captain brilliant.... You apparently caught my humor.

You done *****ing that some folks have more cake to spend on a puller than you do? You may wanna try your hand at bracket racing, cause until they come out with bracket pulling, and somebody has more money than you, you will continue to *****, no doubt.

2.6 Pro? come the phuck on.... buy it or build it if you wanna get competitive... If you cant , you don't make rules to make you competitive..... Unless you want a "Pulling reform" package in congress like healthcare.

Yeah, it pretty much does... Just because you fail to see the parallel in his statement does not mean that it does not exist.
