I'm surprised it's only one knee, cuz you must be on knees to your wife 24/7--just kidding---hope you heal fast---well maybe slow that way you can work on the truck--he,he----chris

Tom now that's funny---sorry Scott but you set yourself up---well I probably didn't help it any-----chris

I have not tried the chrome finish powder coating. The only thing I am having chromed is the valve covers and I am not sure if powder coating would handle the heat, besides I already sent them out with a 4 to 6 week lead time they should be back soon. I am having them done at a place over stocton that Boyd Coddington used regularly one of the best places for chrome plating.

I hope you have a speedy recovery, I had my left shoulder done last winter and my right knee done last wednesday, when I get the right shoulder done next summer I will be close to bionic :)

I finished painting the lower frame this past weekend, picked up the chromed valve covers and powder coating this morning and started assembly of some stuff on the lower portion of the truck.

I had both drivelines balanced, new universal joints, U-Bolts, and straps. I painted them this past wekend as well and started to assemble them this evening the rear driveline is complete but I for got to put the keeper webbing on, will get it tomarow night.

Yea I used that 1x1 tubing for my u-joint shields too...and when my shaft broke saturday night it bent that 1x1 upward like a twig. still contained the shaft luckily but i was surprised at how far it bent it upward.

when I re-do the shields for the 1 piece DS ill be adding some extra pieces to it to make it stronger so it doesnt bend again and have to be rebuilt.

That is excatly why I want to get the straps back on. Post some pics when you get her done please.

Man she shur is looking GOOD .What size ram are you useing to raise the body A freind of mine is going to get one off of a car hauler the long skinny one made out of alum,Some day I,ll see it in person.

Well the sheilds worked the driveshaft didn,t come out and get anyone. That means you did a good job in building them.

Front is done and the straps are on. I guess it's just another layer of protection, I agree it will it probably tear stuff up pretty good if I loose a driveline. Being in the military I have a pretty good preventative maintenance program for the truck hence the balancing, new universals, u-bolts and straps :)

Some of the Bling I picked up Tuesday :)

Had the valve covers and bolts chromed plated at a place called Sherms in Sacramento, they used to do all of Boyd Coddingtons stuff, they look awesome and hopefully won't bubble up like the Cummins ones on the original BBD did.

A lot of the stuff I had anodized was polished but I got tired or didn't have the time to polish it, same with my wife and son :) so opted this and will see how it handles the abuse.

You will get there, but getting the shoulder back in shape is higher priorty, we are actuly three months behind my original schedule :(
