I own a 96 one ton dually 5 speed cummins which i have just blown up. I was already in the process of building a pull truck but was not ready for this far of an upgrade.
:rockwoot:First off the stuff i have done- 5x22 industial injectors, 3in scheids turbo, 5k governer springs, full cut delivery valves, 60lbs valve springs, iron giant clutch, billet input shaft, traction bars, turned up 12mm pump 550cc.
Second i am pretty positive that i spun a bearing and so this motor will need a full rebuild and i am also going to put big cam cut pistons and chop head and port the head.

My question to you all is
1.what is the best rebuild
2. what pistons should i put in
3. what cam should i run
4. should i put girdle in
I am going for well over 1000 hp so that might give you an idea what i am looking for:woohoo:
Thanks for all the help:thankyou2:

Ya im sure darvin gave you the low down on it the hole deal was my falt and it really sucks but i guess it gives me a way to kick your @ss this season when i get it done

You plan on staying in 3.0 class what?

That makes a difference

no im am bushing down to 2.6 or 2.8 it will have to be a pretty bad news truck to run in 2.8 so proably will run 2.6 first year

as much as it needs to be if its alot alot i will just have to space it over time but i want to do it right and put the best in

No way you'll build a 2.6 truck with "well over 1000 hp"...

ok well maybe the 2.6 wont be well over 1000hp but for sure over a 1000hp it can be done but the well over part might be a little much

I'm thinkin' you turned people off with your desires to make 1000HP on a 2.6 charger... Kinda hard to take you seriously after such a newb statement....

Need to do a little research before you take on a project like this bro...

Even "Just" a 2.6 Truck requires alot of time and even more money to be competitive... So the statement.. "whatever it takes...." doesn't really cut it... The guys on here could give you a laundry list of whats available, but without a decent idea on a budget, it'd be like trying to pin the tail on the donkey.

I've got an obscene amount of money in my truck right now and still can't run with the big dogs in 2.6.... Granted my rig has yet to run right, but again... thats part of this diesel high performance stuff.

A stout 2.6 truck is going to require more than just engine mods... You're looking at suspension and safety issues as well.

I'd seriously recommend doing some more reading before taking a project like this on.

Hope I don't sound like too big a "prick"... Just trying to give ya a heads up.

Just my .02....

i can understand that i might not sound like i know alot but i do have enough exsperience to say that i am will to do anything and realize that going over a thousand horse is not something that is going to happen over night and dont plan on it i just want to make sure that the stuff i put in it is the right stuff im not trying to ask weather or not this is possible because it might not be but i still would like to have input i am proceeding with this project with or without help it would just be alot nicer with help i have always learned things the hard way so now i hope that i dont sound like a prick that knows everything
ps. you dont sound like a prick i can understand where you have come from i have been doing efi live programing for awhile now and people said that i could not learn it and could not make the power that i said i could but with a lot of screw ups and time i got it down pretty good but still have alot of work to do
and i am running a 12mm p pump turn up to 550cc for now will proably will have to move to 13mm eventually
JUST TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS I AM NOT TRYING TO COME OUT OF THIS BEATING EVERYONE AND THERE BROTHERS THE FIRST YEAR THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WILL TAKE TIME AND I AM WILL TO PUT IN THE TIME WOULD LIKE INPUT

1st. Punctuation is a big thing on here.

2nd. If you want to play in 2.6 your looking at 10k depending on what you already have laying around. Not counting your drive line and saftey equipment.

Ok sorry about the punctuatinon. 10k is something i am willing to spend but not all at once. What do you think it will cost me to rebuild the motor itself, the other stuff is something i can work on after it is running. Also have found a really good deal on roller rockers so will proably buy a set of those as well, but will have to do some head work for clearance issues .
P.S. I suck at english and writing so you will proably find many spelling issues and grammatic errors. Thanks All

I thought i would make it a little more of a challege for you pros out there. So it was not as easy as just asking a question, but actually trying to understand what the question was even about lol.

we don't know what you want...

I'm curious what kind of pump you're running through full cuts and those injectors
