Following this thread, I must point out We sell a lot of these and other Turbo chargers without issue. When a warranty issue arises that is the Direct result of our manufacturing defect we honor our warrantee obligation. Unfortunately, the internet and forums can be one sided and misleading of the actual/all facts. Does manufacturing errors occur? Yes, they do from time to time. However these turbo chargers are not built one at a time, they are done in volume. Normal process would indicate that if it was a manufacturing issue many within that production run would have an issue. We do not have excessive failures occurring as some would try and make it appear.
Unfortunately, in regards to our customer service or lack of as some would put it. We are working diligently to correct our weak points, we know employee vacation schedules, affect our call in or inspection and production response times. We are and continue to add, promote, and train to help rectify these issue, we do strive to satisfy our customer’s needs, it is input such as this that will make us a better company for all in the future.
The fact is the failure analysis was performed in accordance to every Turbo manufactures instructions. The analysis of the failed Turbo was a result of a lubrication issue.
You clearly state that if you ever made a mistake you would be the first to admit it.
You missed damage to the wastegate excited or not that is a mistake and you admitted it.
Quote:
“Hmmm...
I apologize that my truck had been down for literally 2 weeks and the turbo was installed after I got off work around 3 am. That is no excuse for missing that I know but people make mistakes and I reckon this one is going to come back and bite me in the a$$.”
Quote:
“That is correct. As I stated earlier, it was about 4 in the morning after I got off work. I was excited to get the truck back up and running because it has sat for 2 weeks. Understandable right? Plus, it was a brand new turbo. You don't really expect something like that to happen. Though, now I will be sure to check the damn thing meticulously.”
Working a graveyard shift and starting a project like this at 4am plus being excited to get everything all back together after your truck has been down for day’s/weeks, has the potential for disastrous out comes. This is evident by your quotes:
I find it difficult to think that if you missed as much as you did as mentioned above that you could not have inadvertently missed a supply/prelube issue. Or the fact the truck sat for weeks and all the oil has drained back to the pan as well.
Regardless you have stated your opinion, our offer still stands that even though this is not a Warrantable failure we will offer you a replacement turbo at cost.
Regards,
Hector
