Build thread time.

should have... not a good idea at all to start one up and not break it in, not to mention without ZDDP.

cross your fingers, and break it in hard the next time you start it. 1500+ rpm for at least 10 min

Also when starting an engine for the first time you should never let it idle, bring the rpms up asap after the air is out of the fuel lines

Alright, finally got done building my exhaust and hot pipe. I love tig welding so much. AND BTW!, 5in. exhaust is so tight on a first gen!

I ground the top of the hot pipe down afterwards so it wouldn't look so sharp and tall.

I'm gonna be fabbing up my return lines today. That's gonna be a pretty tough job but we'll get there.

Verrryyy carefully. lol I had to take out that stupid little cross member brace deal. It was relatively smooth after that.

I got the cam broke in this evening, longest fifteen minutes of my life. Everything went smooth, sounds perfect, everything's running good, I only took it to about 4,200rpm(rough guesstimate) this evening. I'm gonna let it warm up tomorrow and do a retorque, then I'm gonna run around and find an air filter and make my intake. I'm gonna post a video up of the break in after it uploads, it's uploading as I type this.

I started the truck up and pulled it out of the garage this morning and let it warm up. My uncle came up the driveway and said I had an oil leak. I looked under the truck and there was oil pouring from around the rear main area, like a steady stream of oil, pretty soon it just stopped...

Then I shut the truck off, it didn't leak while it wasn't running, done a retorque, fired it back up and it leaked again, but this time for a little shorter time period and not quite as much. And again, it stopped. Anybody got any ideas, it sounds like an occasional bad rear main, haha.

Thanks,

Craig

sounds like you managed to push the plug out of the rear of the cam bore... either in the installation process, or the gear somehow walked off in a short amount of time.

Pulled the tranny today, I had put a regular rear main seal on a crank that had a wear sleeve on it. So I took the wear sleeve off and replaced the rear main, reinstLled the tranny and she's like a brand new one.

I made 75psi today. I swear, I can't get this damn thing to hook up for sh*t. Finally got it in fifth gear a few times today. Damn this thing will move.
