cam change benefits

what kind of benefits would i possibly see by swapping out the cam in my truck ? i'm getting a set of 90hp nozzles a new turbo and a few other fuel related enhancements just curious what i might get out of a cam change if i decide to do it down the road :what:

quicker spool up of the turbo for one little better mileage. i'll have a H2 cam for sale here once i swap it out for the HD cam i have.

The biggest things I noticed: EGT's dropped faster when returning to idle, EGT's ran about 100 degrees cooler, the turbo spooled quicker but I can't say anything about fuel mileage because that was not the reason I changed the cam and I didn't check it that close. The cam I have now is a lot better but it requires cut pistons.

Ill agree with the others. I installed a hamilton diesel cam a few weeks ago and I'm still noticing the difference. The bottom end picked up, the top end got longer, the turbo spools a lot faster, the engine is much smoother and quieter, egt's are down some, and mileage seems to be up but its to early to tell (can't keep my foot out of it). I'd definitely get one. Install isn't to bad and the benefits are well worth the cost.

My Hamilton cam is being installed right now. Should have it done tomorrow then leaving on a week job. Should be able to get you a good report on mpg s this coming week.

so i guess from what i'm seeing hear when i decide to do this c am swap i should get a hamilton ?*bdh*

i dunno... I have been very happy with my H2 but its the only cam I have ever owned so i couldnt tell you about the hamilton...

i'm happy with my H2 cam as well i just want to see what the difference in the longer duration and little bit more lift will do with the HD cam and i got a good deal on it

What is the average price of a reground cam? I am sure there are different prices of different ones but whats an average price to expect?

I am extremly happy with my hamilton cam.. install wasnt bad at all and for the difference it made it is deff. worth it!

My truck can now pull a good size trailer with my 66 and dont have to ever worry about my egt's
