Change of heart-Fly by wire swap

I was having a difficult time calibrating my tachometer, i had given up for a bit. It was 500 rpms off when using timing gear t9r on the dakota digital. I was using a harness adapter from greys as a pickup from the CR ess. I reached out to dakotas tech support and they dialed me in. Here is what i have currently. The CR ess is in the Input, the purple wire from my 12v harness ess went to my diesel +, the grey and blk wire from my 12v ess harness I had in my tach normal and tach high voltage, I tried both before settling for high voltage. I sent the hertz data readings off the dakota app to tech support and I was instructed to try swapping to flywheel. After i did and played around with it she is dialed and spot on. I am stoked. Currently i have it on flywheel, and 118 and its dialed. On t9r i was maxing out the settings and not able to get the rpm low enough. Next up is AC and cruise control!!

I created a problem in which the fuel pump relay cycling during a flash sequence was causing flyback current with an apparent failure of the apps input. My boards have both been modified to safeguard against this (beta tester) but I'm not sure the circuit change made it to production or not since the stand alone harness was the specific cause. I would be amused if this turned up after an ECM flash.

Did this issue occur with a suppression device (resistor/diode) installed in the fuel pump relay coil circuit?

. Another task I am researching and coming up with a game plan for is the AC system.

Very nice setup!
The next revamp of my 01 will include some of that CR action 😃.
I'm planning to relocate the a/c condenser to under the bed as part of that project. Id also like utilize a 3rd gen or some other higher capacity core with electric fans to increase overall system efficiency.

A zener was placed in the circuit and I unhook the fuel pump during flashing. I feel like it must be somewhat isolated since I chose to ground the anteater and ECM in the same plane.

I have always been interested in the 03+ gas condensor setup. I debated doing something under the bed or other.. but it gets well over 100 here quite a bit. Hard to beat a good mechanical fan clutch and fan for air flow.

I am still chasing a few codes. So i am unleasing my friend the parts cannon. I grabbed another 849 ecm, new standalone harness from Baldwin, new fca and rail pressure sensor. I am going to slowly swap parts until its dialed. The harness i am impressed with. Some of the connectors seem higher quality. The c1 and c2 covers are always nice to see. I will post side by side comparisons of the two once i have the fp one removed. i also really like how the obd2 is on its own plug. Makes routing it through the firewall easier.

I also was not happy with my pedal location, the angle sucked. I had jimmy rigged the pedal with two bolts into the old pedal bracket. So i am hopeful this new one from BORE will be much better angle wise.

I don't have Facebook is there a phone number or website for that harness company you would be willing to share.

What code are you experiencing that's getting the parts cannon?
I like their stickers.

Its been the same injector codes. p0601-607 iirc. Also a few others intermittently. I am pretty confident this parts cannon will get the job done.
Cody Baldwin, like his info above, was top notch for me. For what its worth, externally it appears nicer quality.
I still have not started this project. I have been busy driving it and burning tires with it.
I also got distracted and started working on one of my dinosaur trucks again.
After sema is over I plan on spending time and getting this CR truck dialed. It has been a parts gathering phase again. Changing up the trans setup a little bit. Have a 35 spline unit coming from Logan built, its not a if, its a when with my right foot on breaking this trans input I have currently.
Swapping up the charger setup to a cool little single. Currently have the manifold and a stainless exhaust housing getting polished. Hoping that will add some class under this hood.

But serious, Cody B is a gangster on this. His stickers are sweet as well. His website should be up soon too

Little and CR/6.7 don't play well above 600 from my person experience. Little is subjective though.

Its going to be a t4 .86 single scroll housing with a 31mm internal waste gate that has maximum priority. I think of it as an over sized stock appearing, but its a s300. It will either go like hell or blow.
