So I read a fascinating story and then got some insider info about it yesterday about the use of nitrous in a form of motorsport that does not allow it's use. My question is, how many of you guys think it would be possible to get it past tech at your average pull? From what I read and heard yesterday, I bet I could get it past tech just about anywhere. It might cost a few nickels to do it, but there has already been far more spent on cheating parts, wheelbase "adjustments, and other stuff. What is some of the wildest stuff you have personally seen that has been "caught" in tech? No names please.

Dont think it'd take to much to hide a nitrous system inside an intercooler.

Angry beavers...

All joking aside, I'm interested in what may come up in this thread. The thought process behind cheating can be pretty creative at times. "Desperation is a smelly perfume"

I say without a doubt you can. Alot of your organizations check hitches and turbos and thats about it. If they don't see a nitrous bottle looking right at them then all is well. Show-Me Smokers isn't like that. No bending the rules. All of nothing. Well.... We did let a guy run a bushing in the 2.6 class once.

Do they have a nitrous sniffer?

I honestly think if someone wanted to run nitrous, that it wouldnt be too hard to do at most places. Especially on a duramax or powerstroke because of the extra clutter in the engine bay.

I hid a nitrous kit on a street car that we used to grudge race once....even I could barely find it once it was done. Sneaky Pete bottles will fit just about anywhere...including the intake ducting. :evil

I've seen frame rails turned into tanks and very sneaky nozzle placement before. It can be done.

on the drag racing side (prostock cars) seen guys drag tranny blankets that sort of thing its all good at tech but when they get to the pits readjustments are made.

Smokin S I see you reading below. Have you found Troys nitrous on his truck yet??:hehe:

In some "stock" gas truck pulling seen in go into the intake and the air cleaner. No one ever saw it. Sneaky Pete bottles fit real nice into the ash tray of an 80's Chevy truck. No it wasn't me either, I can make power without it.

I have run across the nitrous issue many times. Every time they argue with me about there is no bottle hooked up in the bed, but they complain when I ask them to unhook it. I have found some pretty well hidden nozzles before with nothing in sight to tip me off. I have even come very close to telling the puller to load it up and leave, but they saw it my way before it came to that.

Water injection is the one that is hidden more than anything else around here.

Turbos are getting interesting to say the least!

As far as pushing rules, usually bump stops, hitches, suspension mods etc. I wish there was a better way of defining "street" class.

Anyone have a suggestion on where to buy a quality sniffer?

I wouldnt think it would be hard at all the bad part about it is there is a dmax around here that runs nitrous and he has told people he does and it has never been caught I know there is a lot of room in these trucks to hide stuff like that and the tech is normally just hitch height and turbo and sometimes safety thats about it

haha. i think i know the truck your talkin about.. whats it look like? its blatently obvious. you can smell it in the air after his runs and the truck is smoke free. which is odd for a truck thats supposed to be has hot a running truck as his.

The definition of cheating is more interesting.

No hanging weights= fill the front 2ft of the frame with lead.

2 stage turbocharging system= 3 chargers are ok

Single turbo = 2 compressors on 1 shaft

Honesly, on a Dmax or PS I could hide a nitrous kit even the owner cant find.

This is some interesting reading, PLEASE continue and dont leave out any of the raunchy details!
