Cheating parts.

IMHO you will be way further ahead exploring the gray areas of the rules on chassis/hitches/weight than messin with NOS! All the HP in the world won't do ya any good if ya can't put it to the ground!

"NOW JUST WHY IN THE HELLL DO I HAVE TO PUSH 1 FOR ENGLISH?"....Oh wait wrong thread.:hehe:

One of the wise old farts that works for me has alot of good stories of cheating back in the day.....The comp cars used to get the used motor oil from the fuel cars & run it. Can anyone guess what advantage that would give a n/a motor?

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock.......

its called Royal Purple 11 lite , it is good for 4 to 5 passes , and then it slows down a few hundreys .
on the dyno my V6 picked up 10 to 12 hp this was a 648 hp engine

I always thought that the high pressure oil rails would be bad ass to hide NOS in on a p-pumped 7.3L PSD. They already hold 3500psi, have easy access to each intake runner, built in "heaters" because they but right up to the coolant passageways in the head, and your already in there cutting things all to hell anyway.

Good thing I have enough sense to switch platforms before mechanically injecting a 7.3!

Nope!!! Wrong answer.

Next person want to take a stab at it? Its good!!!

John....
The same reason when you used to walk through an Outlaw Sprint car pit and they warmed up a car and it took your breath away and gave them a bunch more straightaway speed during time trails.....Nitromethane in the oil is one of the oldest tricks for HP out there.Problem the sprint car guys found was in a 40 lap feature you were wicked fast early and then somewhere later its was...KaBooommmm!...40g's down the drain.

Greg ....
How about the time at Virginia Motorsports Park back the first time it was NHRA that NHRA got wind of the top Chevy Superstock Pilots running delay boxes inside the transmissions. There were a few of them who could not miss anywhere they raced and all constantly were dropping 5 teen lights and loads of 5-O's.They heard of NHRA impending checks of ALL first round winners and miraculously none of the heavy hitter made the round bell.

OR...

The Pro-Stock teams who got caught at Englishtown running added fuel lines inside their cages so they could pump the lines full with propylene oxide and then fill the tanks with the proper fuel.Push the car to the water box,do the burnout, make the pass and by the time they reached the scales and the fuel check they were back on racing fuel and legal.Another reason for the latest version of the fuel tests.

OR....

How about the mess the Wayne County Speed Shop created when lifted and intake and carbs high in the air when they had a "distributor rotor" break and cause the backfire.Funny thing was when the tech man got to the intake top and it had all kinda of funny looking lines underneath it,they bowed out for the year to "regroup".

Around here for pullers...
Traction bars which limit the rear suspension travel to almost nothing.Hitches that control how the hook rolls and eases the load a little when the sled is being dragged. No one cheking for water meth kits beyond external tanks when you have guys using the washer fluid bottles.Duramax guys dropping their noses to scrape the ground and the local Dodge and Ford guys are not even allowed aftermarket bumpers or added weight to help transfer.Thee best one I seen was the guy with the fake battery and the cables(or poor excuse of what they should have been)running down under the p-pump and into the bottom of the intake.I could not even believe that the tech guy was so blind he never even seen it.

I used to spray my K&N breather with nitro before id pull (lightly)...even had the nitro in the K&N cleaner spray bottle! just looked like i was cleaning my breather :hehe: Got that trick off of the go cart guys...

I use to work with a long time retired drag racer, he told me the motto the him and his brother lived by was "ITS MY JOB TO CHEAT, IT THEIRS TO CATCH ME".

we used to have this guy around here with a straight axel`d d-max. he got caught spraying at a sled pull. foung the nitrous bottle inside the drivers door under the door panel. pretty slick I would say but he still got caught

You think that's the last time he ran it? *nx*

Rules is rules but how you interpret them is open for discussion. That's the problem with most of the rules I've seen for pulling. One guy says it's OK and the next says no way, it's a trick hitch, no it's OK it goes on and on. Until someone sits down and writes the rules clearly and covers all the bases your are going to have people push the rules into the gray area. Guess what, that's there job!

As for cheating many look at it differently, It's not cheating if you do not get caught. NOS has been hidden for many years in many ways. Those of us that run it do not event try to hide it, not worth the trouble. If it's legal at one event you bet we will use it. Why bring a knife to a gun fight? If it's not legal we remove it, it's just that simple.

Many men have been hit over the head with a frying pan for having that thought.
