Cheating parts.

we used to have this guy around here with a straight axel`d d-max. he got caught spraying at a sled pull. foung the nitrous bottle inside the drivers door under the door panel. pretty slick I would say but he still got caught

That wouldnt happen to be a silver dmax would it?

Jackblack... not saying its ok to cheat... but if you aint cheatin, then you aint gonna win it seems like any more. its exactly the same with our pulling tractors, the best cheater wins, and most of the time if a guy gets beat and gets mad its because somebody else must be cheating more than him to beat him because hes cheating too!!

Ya know theres plenty of places in a factory block to hide the :nos: I've done some looking and it wouldnt be too hard and you would never know it was there unless you pulled down the engine....

Kevin Ikenberry or better known as Kevin NOSenberry by those that pull with him most likely......

You think that's the last time he ran it? *nx*

No, he most likely just moved the bottle......

He was at a pull Saturday.

He runs all over.....

A few years ago I was talking to some guys that had went to watch the Unlimited Mods up at Bowling Green and one of them said a tractor had a bad "back fire" and they checked him and found a nitrous bottle in the fuel cell, the next night all of the tractors didnt run so well from what I was told, they were 20-30 feet shorter and they never changed the sled and the track was pretty close to the night before, so take that for what its worth......

There was a guy running at Columbus Motor Speedway in the latemodel series and would blow everyones doors off and no one could figure out why, someone mentioned traction control and they checked and checked and checked the car, they finally told him that they would let him run it the rest of the season if he showed them where he had it hid.......pulled the alternator off and there was the sensor inside it.......all you need for a signal is something that is being driven off the engine, like a wheel, pulley, rearend, driveshaft, tranny, anything......

seen guys have lead clip boards and water bottles in sprint cars to add that extra 20-30 so when they hit the scales they are legal......

Keep lookin guys

man, this is some pretty good stuff. These are all good ideas:banned:

Great Timbeaux, you think the crying in the diesel world is bad now. Look what you just started. Poor tech guys are gonna have their work cut out for them now.

Edit: Don't forget the smiley:rockwoot:

Spray Bar under the intake plate on a Cummins...plumbed via "vacuum line" at the back with a 5lb bottle in the door would probably pass as long as they ddnt clear up all the smoke.

Anybody have thought about using Ether Assist as a cheating platform?

Cheating eventually makes more rules, smarter tech, and makes the people who get caught look like a tool IMO. It eventually catches up to most of them, I just hope the consequences are stout enough to discourage it in the future.

How about running used motor oil instead of diesel?

I don't remember the number right now but I think it is something like 180,000 btu per unit of waste oil, like 150,000 for diesel and like 130,000 for waste vegetable oil.

Even running a 50% mix would bring the btu's up of diesel.

When the NASCAR boys get caught "cheatin" do ya think they look like a tool? NO they get on tv and talk about how they cheated and still get payed the big bucks to push the limits of the rules, thats just how it is!

Point is, when theirs compition...your goin to have people pushing the rules, and the closer the compition is the more rule pushin there will be! You can call them names or down them all ya wan't (if that makes ya feel better)but it's still going to happen! look at what they are doing, cheat/bend the rules or what ever ya wan't to call it, and learn from it! Like if ya get beat by NOS...ya can USE more power, If ya get beat by a hitch rule infraction...then ya need to work on your hitch...and so on... If ya don't get beat by a rule infraction then don't worry about it...it's not workn!!!

I always hated that statement, mostly because I proved it wrong 50 times or so.
Personally, I would rather lose, than cheat to win.

thank you. whats so wrong with being honest? i mean really. and i know this thread will change nothing. but makes ya think.

easy way to get rid of cheaters....allow nitrous water and water/meth...

Sure, and then we'll allow spark plugs, mags, and alcohol... in the street class.Where does it end? Nitro?

I think Diesel fuel and water is plenty complicated enough.

The only thing I have on my truck is water injection and unless I show it to the tech they can't find it. I have only used it at the events where I can and been honest with the guys who tech all the time but it would be very easy for me to still use it and not get caught for a while... recently it backfired on me though. Normally I keep my washer fluid bottle empty so that there is no chance of me accidently running it when I don't want to but I had filled it by habbit doing routine maint. on my truck. was runnin down the road and didn't even realize it was spraying and at normal cruising speed 75-80mph it was running but the motor wasn't running high enough to use it... had issues. now I have gone so far as to cut the wires going to the pump and disconnected the line going to the pump so there is no way of using it even if I wanted to.. I will eventually take the whole system out but where my pump is hidden is a very long job to take out so it will have to wait for off season.

I learned to use water in my old "out of the field" tractor from another puller I knew well. he showed it to me and even sold me the parts to run it... on alot of the old tractors the fuel tank starts out behind the motor in front of the steering column and goes up and over the engine... nice thing is because of the heat there is a heat shield above the engine. put a modified tank in where there is no tank above the engine just the part behind it nobody is the wiser if you look up under the side tin. all you see is the tank and part of it going over the motor... that left me with approx. a 2'x3'x 8" space to hide all kinds of stuff... non turbo class, run an electric blower/fan in the intake piping creating 5-6 psi of boost... nos yup, water yup whatever you wanted.. the intake piping ran right thru the same cavity... I got out of that because I was wasting all the money puting cheating parts on a low class tractor just to win trophys and maybe a little cash. not worth it.

There is a big difference between pushing the envelope running in gray areas, and just plain out straight up cheating. Running nitrous or something that is specifically banned for a class is plain cheating in my eyes and I hope anyone that is caught is disgraced to no end. NASCAR boys usually try to push the envelope and sometimes go too far but they don't seem to blatantly cheat. Cheating is cheating whether it's on your wife or your racing association. $.02

sledpuller can you honestly say something about the streeet class and where it ends.... it already out of hand.. these truck that are at the top are not even close to being streetable... lets have a nice 65mph cruise for about 20 minutes down the freeway, lets see how many make it.. i know about 10-15 trucks in the cotpc that couldnt even run over 40mph...
