check out this nasty stuff (egr related)

Must have been my imagination thought it was warming up quicker.

I did notice that the turbo spooled quicker with the egr vacuum diaphram line unplugged and blocked off.

I do like the idea of exhaust heating coolant for quicker warm up

Anyone know how much exhaust pressure it takes to open the egr valve?

Just wondering

either way i'm make a block off plate and keeping the egr cooler for now
 
Not trying to do a major marketing blitz or anything, but one of the big benefits of water/methanol injection is that it really helps to clean out these EGR systems. IMHO EGR has no place on a diesel engine, but thats a battle I will not win, and the law is the law. We also big decreases in the frequency of regeration (its almost eliminated) for DPF equiped applications too.

The engineers simply have not had enough time to adapt these technologies to real world diesel engines. It reminds me of late 70s emissions stuff. They will get it right eventually, but it just takes time and experimentation.
