I am running a south bend 3850 dual disk.
My 1st one lasted for over 30 hooks to the sled before i had to replace it. So i went back with the same thing and also upgraded the turbos at the same time . After 11,000 mile of street driving over the past 9 months i decided to hook to the sled here at the fair saturday night. 1st hook on the clutch, so i get hooked, tighten the chain build my boost and out with the clutch and it never fully grabs  . I came off the line at 3500 rpm and 70psi and was off the clutch within 5ft. what do you think? time for a triple disk? or just a different clutch material? I never had this problem with my smaller turbo setup but i could leave at 30# of boost to.

here is video sorry it is so dark but you can hear me pat the fuel trying to get it hooked

talked to the owner of valair and he said two options 1 turn the truck down or 2 run a triple disc and he said he was puttin a triple disc in as we speak gonna try it this weekend and he would have some feed backi am thinkin detune the truck for the time being till i got the money for a triple disc he said the way i run mine i would probably never get a dual disc to last.

For those who have a triple disc feed back please!

i got my triple in 2 days ago, its weighted, i did my first boosted launch this morning it was just to easy, poor tires, i'm gonna hook to the sled this weekend gonna try 4l with 355 gears. i'll let you know how i come out.

Seems like an awful high gear for 37s and 3.73s unless its a super-loose track $.02

na it will do it has done it many times before. u should just see the look on evereyones face when ur strollin down the track that fast.:woohoo::woohoo:

Yeah I watched and wished my truck was done. who was they guy with the flatbed and hoodstack? that was a badass truck

JOSH watson he is from sweetwater and keaton built bored and stroked the 12v in it and it runs 2 100mm chargers and broke tranny too

What I meant was it might be too much on the clutch. The truck might pull off the speed, but thats a lot of abuse.

THATS NOT MINE BUT WE COUNTED 12 HOOKS ON HIS 4TH AND 5TH GEAR WITH 37S PULLS MINE WAS ALL IN 5TH AND 4 HOOKS EACH TIME WITH 33s

I talked to dan at valair and he said with the power I am makin I would not ever get a dual disc to last. That's why he was puttin in a triple in he said he was tired if rebuildin and pullin trany. We all love drivin our trucks to the pull, pullin them and driven them home so he recomended triple but told me too wait and he would enlighten me on how it was on the street as well

After getting prices on a triple disk $3500 :hehe::badidea: i am now thinking about the auto swap even more now. that is a lot of coin to drop on a clutch. Anybody need a G56?

If you think $3500 is alot you obviously have not priced a good built auto

talked to a couple on triple disc
southbend $3500
valair $2300
kennys pullin parts $1800 i think i found a winner
