Being cheap is not always a good idea
how much HP do you have?
If you are slipping a DD at that hp then you are doing something wrong.
I think a common misconception with a DD is that you can slip it all you want and it should hold up. All it takes is enough heat to bowl shape the discs and it will no longer hold the hp since it has half the amount of surface area.
Just because its a dd doesnt mean you can ride the clutch, if you cant rev it up to 4k and just about side step it you need to fix your setup.
A triple will help since it distributes the heat into 3 discs instead of two but will only last so long if you ride it the same as you did the dd. Clutches are not rocket sceince or magical pixie dust, its plate load and surface area.
I run a SBC triple with a 3250 cover for the last 3 years and its still goin strong and with more hp then what you saying you have. I pulled with a dd 3250 for about a year at 750hp and it finally couldnt take it anymore, but only because I had to ride it alot before I changed my setup.
I found a playmate:evil
Im willing to bet that when yall get triple disc's the tranny's will be next on the kill list.
BTW, jessie, find my spicer input shaft.
You act like we dont have trailers....
i dont ride it long i only turn 3500 rpms and i usually take off at 2500 to 3000 rpms build the boost to about 35 to 40psi and come off the line once its rollin i let completely off the clutch and then my tire usually break loose and starts spinin. whats wrong am i buildin to much boost or to manny rpms or what?
This is why i believe my dual disc is slippin the ceterplate is bowedmy thinking is it doesnt matter if you have a 4 disc if you have to ride clutch along time there not going to last my buddy has a sbc iron giant with over 50 hooks pulls 4low in 5spd 410 gears and blaze tires of it by 5ft tops im not saying you ride yours to long just what i have seen work the truck only 550hp turn 4k with industrial 66mm turbo
Id say that didnt help it.
LOL even your bronze inlay is glazed... you ride it way too much.. get a better tire and drop a gear everything will benefit..
