Common Rail dyno preview

sleddy is just upset cause he could not beat the humbler at it's own game. LOL

Horsepower is Horsepower.....what a bs statement!!:shake:

SOMEBODY HOLD 1000 HP FOR 10 SECONDS, THEN LET US KNOW.

And the next favorite dyno thread statement, "There is more in it.":hehe::hehe:

Can some of you Dodge guys please explain something to me?
Y'all post about how much power you guys make make but none of these super high horsepower trucks ever go out on a track and do anything impressive.
Kinda like standing around in front of a really hot woman and talking about how your wiener is bigger than the next guy but you never actually use it on the hot chick, you just stand there hold it in your hand and talk about it:doh:
I admit I have small wiener but by Golly I pound on that hot chick every chance I get:Cheer:

Why don't one of you folks put you truck on the same dyno that semi's run. ohh the name eludes me, but you start high and it pulls rpm's down, kinda like a sledpull, but with traction. :)

I don't recall anyone here doing a pull on one of them

There was big thread about this earlier in the year "getting paid to dyno on a dyno that's accurate" or something like that.

I know nothing I am just some punk kid but when some one claims a # after a dyno run just say good job even if you think they are full of it :hehe:
No wait that would be too easy oooooops :hehe:

:hehe::hehe: Awesome post.

I ran 11.76 a few years ago in a quad cab 4x4 on just over 600hp as measured by a dynojet. It was a consistent 11.85 truck.

I sure as hell hope my new truck will go faster then that with 870... if not i wasted a lot of money. Hope to find out real soon. Just a couple things to work out first.

Well if we were talking about my daughter she would definitely be safe around you Dodge guys:hehe:

and yes I am married and yes I pound on her too every chance I get:woohoo:

Why would you get a CR when you're P-pump is putting out less power than some VE's? :poke:

Yes you are right

but my truck at the moment even without chargers makes more than what the incubator does..

Im not aimin to build a monster HP truck, If i wanted to build that high a HP truck, id chunk all my money into it instead of my mortgage and bills and id still live at home with my parents..... im lookin for about 600-650 and thats it.. And just FYI, im not too far off where i want to be...I want a truck i can valet, tow, and still have enough power to play with RELIABLY thats already mine and paid for.

You have anymore questions?

and to GRotman

yes im aware a 12V is ontop, Nothin new to me there..

Rick

Anyone:
Define Streetable?

If you have to smoke out the general public just to keep up with traffic, it's not streetable.

If you have a gasser, and you have to run something other with 93 octane, it shouldn't be on the street other wise, folks behind ya can get rather pre-occupied trying to breath, 116/118 octane is "border line"

If you have so much clutch that you need 8000rpm or you'll stall, you shouldn't be on the road (I've tried this with a friends car, he changed clutches real quick)

If your converter it so lose you need 8000rpm to move 10 feet. Hope you like replacing converters, but noise violations is borderline here.

Redstroke, Since you can get out and muck with the wastegates to make it streetable. Sure. But if you have to muck with them for a race on the street, then I'd say, no, cuz your not ready to go. I'd for sure beat ya!

But your situation can be argued for a long while I"m sure as far as adjusting for power.

Streetable is different to every person. I guarantee my definition is not the same as yours. Personally, if you've got a cage in your truck then it's not streetable.

That depends on who builds the cage and if safety is important to you.
When your young and dumb you take chances, then you get old and wise with experience and you think back at the some of the stupid things you did when you were younger.
So a cage has nothing to do with it being streetable thats just personal preference.

To me streetable and big power go hand in hand only if you can drive to the grocery store and on the way get called out then by simply turning a switch and doing nothing else go from a clean 250rwhp to 600+.

Jason I only muck with the gates when I am using more nitrous than my dentist does :evil
