Common Rail dyno preview

That depends on who builds the cage and if safety is important to you.
When your young and dumb you take chances, then you get old and wise with experience and you think back at the some of the stupid things you did when you were younger.
So a cage has nothing to do with it being streetable thats just personal preference.

To me streetable and big power go hand in hand only if you can drive to the grocery store and on the way get called out then by simply turning a switch and doing nothing else go from a clean 250rwhp to 600+.

Thank you for proving my point. My definition of streetable is different from yours.

sleddy is just upset cause he could not beat the humbler at it's own game. LOL

On the contrary, I have a high horsepower trophy on #2 only from your favorite dyno!!
So I beat the things that mattered-the other competitors.

I bet it was reading high, though. (<-statement you never hear on a dyno thread.)

then whats your definition of streetable? I think Lotts explanation and definition of streetable is pretty simple.

No roll cages, not a laggy set of turbos (laggy is also a personal preference) that take forever to spool without nitrous or boosted launches, not a huge smoke cloud following you wherever you go (again, personal preference), having a tranny that doesn't have neck snapping jolts for shifts, something that doesn't require ether or something to start, having a full interior with AC/heat/radio, no special tires. I think that about covers it. I have more but I'm sure this will give someone enough to criticize me since my opinion differs from theirs.

Nice list for an 11.50 and up daily driver that is 4x4.

I have a streetable CR that I consider to be fairly high hp. It also gets great fuel mileage. It's been 128 in the quarter and 102.5 in the eighth. I've driven it from FL to KY and back three times now. Race weight was 6,370. I just drove to the track and ran.. Didn't even check the air in the tires. Changed nothing. I need to get a cage, though I haven't been around the shop that I want to do it long enough for it to happen. I'm shooting for 132 plus in Alabama.. Going with larger turbos and shedding a couple hundred pounds..

Can some of you Dodge guys please explain something to me? Here is how us Ford guys do it:

We post about how much power we guys make make but none of our super high horsepower trucks ever go out on a track or a dyno and do anything impressive.
Kinda like standing around in front of a really hot wine-drinking male and talking about how your wiener is bigger than the next guy but you never actually use it on a hot chick, you just stand there hold it in your hand and talk about it:doh:........ and then go home with a dude
I admit I have small wiener but by Golly I pound miniature bottles of wine every chance I get:Cheer:

Fixed it for ya Dave LOL

Horsepower is Horsepower.....what a bs statement!!:shake:

SOMEBODY HOLD 1000 HP FOR 10 SECONDS, THEN LET US KNOW.

And the next favorite dyno thread statement, "There is more in it.":hehe::hehe:

That would be a Super Flow or Taylor dyno. I know it takes a heck of a Cat to hold 1000+hp for 10 sec.

Ive allways wondered if every high HP truck is just zinging the rollers on a dyno jet or a "no load" dyno ???

We created some load on the truck with gearing in the truck. With stock gearing and stuff, the run is over so fast. The dynojet 248 is great for that. The wheel speed was 170 mph......... If you can make power on a 248, you are making good power.

Also, this truck is not really set up for the track yet.... hell, it gets sideways when you roll on it at 90 mph. Just ask the guys at Redding from last year. The truck got sideways 3 times in a 1/4. This truck would be awesome for the texas mile or something like that. Just cause it's not running on the 1/4 track, doesn't mean crap.

I think Powerstroke Racer just lives his life a 1/4 mile at a time.... :kick:

Yes they are, and the big tq numbers fool the gasser programs in them, more so as the power gos up.Even more so with a shot of nitrous.

I ran on the PDR dyno way back in 03' and the pull (in direct) was long enough for the EGT's to level out at 1700, I hear what your saying gene, no zinging that dyno up but it was still shy of 10 seconds on boost.

That's about all a powerstroke will run. LOL :poke:

Actually I have more fun on the street than anything else:rockwoot:
Me and dynos just don't get along, I dynoed 542 and turned around and trapped 129@5800lbs in Snow White, I dynoed 530 in the wifes truck and trapped 110@7600lbs:doh::what:

anyway don't take my standing around having a circle jerk comment too seriously I'm probably just a lil insecure cus I don't have enough to stroke my stuff in public:badidea:
