Comp Box or Adrenline???

I bought a 01 5speed truck to pull my common rail around with I've had a comp box before and the truck ran great loved the box but which do you guys think is better??? I've never tried an adrenline before I hear good things about them though. I'm just going to be towing and daily driving it around not to make a hott rod out of this truck I already have one of those. I might put a set of light injectors in later and a charger later down the road but not right away.
 
I do alot of towing 15-18k# & the Adrenaline has more pulling power, cooler egts, egt & boost defueling, Turbo Timer, High idle, soon to have timing/fueling adjustments in real time. It is every tow rigs dream, especially if you get it with the Pulse. No comparison to my old Drag comp/Smarty stack, Adrenaline hands down.
 
so far I have not seen diddly with regards to how well an Adrenaline box works....take a look through all bazzilion pages of that thread and you won't find SQUAT. Which is why I am sticking with my old school stack.

A PEC is proven, so is a Power Max

I had a Smarty/TSTcomp stack and an edge comp and the Adrenaline made the most power on the dyno, and has more power under the curve and more options. Bare in mind the Quad is a newer product that is still under development and WILL (IMHO) be the last word for the 24 valves. Nothing wrong with the others, their just outclassed. $.02
 
I've got both right now and the Comp gives me alot less headaches...

Very well said. I could not agree more. Bazzilion of pages about PROBLEMS !! I'll keep my DRAG COMP until someone says they made xx more HP or went xx faster than they did with the old DRAG COMP. $.02 Thanks Steve B.
 
winSPEED used a drag comp to break the 1000 hp mark. That's got to count for something.

So you'd like to say there has been NO problems with edge stuff? What are they up to 10 revisions now? The drag has proven what it can do, and works well for what it is. but it cant compare to the features offered by the Adrenaline, which is still under development. I have run BOTH and kept the better one on my truck.:shake:
Adding Adams truck as proof is pure poop! Hes got ALOT more than a box on that truck and could swap it out for most any other, and still run over 1k with his supporting mods.
 
you can get more smoke and good mileage out of the adraline just have to put different tunes on, with the dyno tune it fuels like a redline... just with out the hassels of a redline
 
I'd stay with a Comp Or TST right now. On all the differant web sites there are more post about problems, then good things to say. I'm not saying it's not a good box, but still has alot of bugs to be worked out.
 
IMO, The only thing the Comps have over the Adrenaline right now is the driveability. As for people making more/less power with the ADR, i think it all has to do with the truck/mods.... Give Quadzilla some more time with the tuning, and im sure everyone will be on this bandwagon....

ADR 3000 file stacked with a Smarty on 4..... my truck has never been more fun. Now i just have to buy my own Smarty....:bang
 
LOL, seems there is a misconseption as to what you san do with a wire tap.

There is physicaly only so much fuel that can be squeased from a VP44. My box places a +70% duty cycle on the VP solenoid. Actually anything over 63% does not add that much, and to realize any gains you need big sticks and air to even see that extra 5 to 10 HP from running a box that drives the solenoid that hard (they used to be nicknamed "Pump Killer Boxes"). In actuality, my Mach 5.8 injectors are not big enough.

Personally I have yet to see ONE decent dyno printout from a truck with an ADR box.

Poop huh? So you mean to tell me that if he could have made 1080 hp vs 1060 with the ADR he would still not use it just cuz??? Dont be fooled he is not a dummy. Im sure that he has used the ADR at some point in time. I think he went with what works best.

thats exactly what he did.

i know for a fact that he has ran both(drag comp and adr) at the drag strip and the one with the faster time is the one that just hit over 1K hp. i believe adam told me the DC ran .3T faster. i am not here to bash the adr but i am not going to force it to automatically be the most powerful and fastest box just because i now own one. infact, adam is hoping that the adr comes through just because it has rpm's.
 
For a tow rig I'd hold out for a little more data on the TS MVP. If it does what they say it will be sweet for a tow rig. 100hp, and no wiretap.
