Comp Box or Adrenline???

I can't wait, this should be good. Also are your going to be dynoing the DC/Smarty stack right?

Yes, we will be testing the boxes stacked and stand alone. I'm also trying to get a Redline to throw into the mix. And to be fair, I'll try the different tunes for the ADR.

I'll use my truck with the HRVP. I'll also see about getting a stock VP'd truck to try them on too.

Should be a long day! But we will have solid numbers, Finally!

I'll have to agree on the buttons. My buddy's quad commander has issues with his buttons (or whatever the other full monitor is for the xzt+). Got another friend who's had his buttons quit once or twice on him and my buttons are getting picky. I wish they would just make them like the TST or drag comp's buttons. Never had a problem with those.

Ya Leonard's right. I've had issues with the Pos buttons on my pulse. Justin from Quad suggested i scotch brite the contacts and it worked.
Other than that I'm very happy with the AD. I had issues with surging with the 1000a tune so in loaded the 1000 and no more surge.
They have updates on the site to just about suite everyone's taste and they are FREE!
I do miss the Smarty/Comp stack but couldn't use cruise control with it. So i got rid of them.

Adam, Have you tried the "4k_TEST" tune yet? To date, this was by far the most streetable tune on my truck, plus it also provided my quickest ET's.

Joel

I haven't had a surging problem with my truck with any tune. I get a very little one when I'm holding 3rd gear out and I ease up on the throttle but it's nothing bad.

In my use of the adrenilin compared to a redline it is by far more suitable for daily driving then my redline edge stack but when sled pulling and track the redline was about 3 tenths faster. I never had the balls to try to stack the redline with the adr...hmmmmmm:badidea:

Adam you say you will use your truck with the HRVP for testing? Are you talking about your scheid vp or your monster pump? Just curious

i have the adr 4k test(2). does this one pull harder(not rpms but fuel harder) than the latest comp tune that is out?

I don't know if it pulls harder or not since I didn't put this tune on the dyno. I do know it doesn't shudder near as bad as all the other tunes I've tried. This is the only tune I feel confident enough to run nitrous with right now. The others just shudder to violently on the upper PL's.

i will have to do a back to back wot run with the two. see if there is a difference in the upper levels shuddering, especailly when letting off at the end of a wot run.

Hi Joel, The last tunes I tried were from mid April. At that point I needed to go back to the tried and true in order to test a few things. I guess its time for me to plug that thing back in.

I was going to use the Scheid pump. I figure it would be most useful for the masses. It seems like more people have the HRVP's and not the Monster's. I believe the HRVP will make 1k hp too. I think the monster will make a lot more than we hit with it. We didn't tune it at all. The first time on the dyno is when it made 1060, and that was at an event. One small adjustment took it from 980 to 1060. There is a lot more in it.

You can bet I'll be testing them on the Monster too. I may not do as many combo's, just the ones that worked best on the HRVP.

As far as the posted Dyno graphs, It will be with the HRVP. We'll do a complete unbias write up.

im glad to see were gonna get a unbias adr test, because from what ive saw if you have it its the best of the best and if you dont it sucks*bdh*

its something i may look in to in the future, im sure its the future for us vp guys, just to many varables and flaws right now IMO ill be running my edge/smarty stack till quad gets the bugs worked out.

as a stand alone box id say the adr beats the comp hands down, id like to see numbers with the quad/smarty stack:st:

Well I have had the edge comp for about a year now and I just got the drag comp a few weeks ago. And I love it. It really does the job for me. Its kind of a preference thing.

I have still have my Drag Comp. It's still an awsome box IMO, just lacks the features the ADR has and there's no way I'm selling it for $300 like some people are doing these days. Some trucks make more power with the Drag and some make more with the ADR. At this point, I personally make more with the ADR. Who knows, maybe in a month that won't be the case. :pop:

P-pump...my box has tools in it;)

I really have nothing to add, just wanted to post that I've setup trucks with Juice's, Smarty's, Comp's and a couple TST's, and they all run good. I'm waiting on more ADR refinement's, and someone else around here that want's me to recommend a box for them:D I'm sure Quad will get it worked out!

Chris

Not sure if quad has them available yet or not. I got a datcon 102222 from vehiclecontrols.com (had to call, they didn't have it listed on their site). Works great.
