Comp Box or Adrenline???

My old Drag/Smarty was fun, but no comparison to my ADR...especially after loading the comp tune today..WOW!!!!!

I'd really like the try the Adrenaline but I don't want any problems I hate that I've done sereval comps and had no issues with them at all. What kind of problems have they had with the Adrenaline???

the comp1 that dyno run was adr 4k test 3 and was done before the tranny broke, but it is fixed lol, it was still climbinb at the 605 too

I'd buy the Comp. The comp, on the 3 or so trucks weve compared, makes a lot more power from 2-3k, The ADR finally catches up at 3K and then keeps making power. But the comp still makes more peak.

And the Comp is driveable where the ADR likes to either be at idle or floored. Anything in between it misses and bucks. In my opinion they don't work good at all. The ONLY thing it does better than the Comp is it revs higher.

I still have hope for the ADR, maybe some day they'll get it figured out (Maybe wishfull thinking.) Untill they do, I'd get the Comp.

So you'd like to say there has been NO problems with edge stuff? What are they up to 10 revisions now? The drag has proven what it can do, and works well for what it is. but it cant compare to the features offered by the Adrenaline, which is still under development. I have run BOTH and kept the better one on my truck.:shake:
Adding Adams truck as proof is pure poop! Hes got ALOT more than a box on that truck and could swap it out for most any other, and still run over 1k with his supporting mods.

Hmm, well I made 904 with the comp, Switched to the ADR, and on the same dyno, same setup, it made 848, and we tried several tunes in it. Couple that with testing it on a few other trucks. I'm not a believer.

Ya, Edge has had some reliability issues, But my Comp is 5 years old (never sent in to be fixed) and just set a record. There is something to be said for that.

The ADR has potential, and I hope the Quad people continue to improve upon their product. I wish they would copy how the comp works and just make it rev higher. Hopefully they get it figured out before I buy a Redline.

The ADR was also 4 tenths slower at the track (Bakersfield event) and I didn't bring the Comp, so I was stuck running slow that weekend. I wanted to send Quad an Anthrax letter.:evil

I still have a Drag Comp, No stack. However will be trying something new shortly. If it works I"ll say something about it.

IMO (much like others) these two are too difficult right now to compare considering how long the drag comp has been around. if years down the road the ADR has not improved, THEN it might be justifiable to send them an anthrax letter.

as for the daily driving comments, its been said that comp/aggressive tunes arent designed for DD conditions. however, i have found the street manners of the comp1.exe to be exellent until pl10. they are even better when u put a tune on there that is actually meant for daily driving (ie. 2000 tunes).

having driven a drag comp and drag comp/smarty, my experience has proven the ADR to hit harder/sooner/longer. some call that "SOP" and others may argue its real-world/everday driving comparison, but sorry, no dyno/track comparisons.

I showed a +12 hp gain with the ADR, back to back dyno runs with my Drag Comp. I also picked up .15 in the 1/4 and 2 MPH. The drag runs were not back to back, but nothing was changed from when I ran the Drag Comp.

I agree that as of right now the Drag Comp is more suited for daily driving, especially on the higher power levels. However, my experiance has shown the ADR makes a little more umph at WOT. The features the ADR offers is another big plus for me. Although I can't say I like recalling my EGTs after a run :doh:LOL

i was waiting for you to post up your results with the ADR

i paid $125 less for an adrenaline than i did for a drag comp, and the adrenaline is updateable/turbo timeable/defuelable and so on....sounds like a much better deal to me

IMO, The only thing the Comps have over the Adrenaline right now is the driveability. As for people making more/less power with the ADR, i think it all has to do with the truck/mods.... Give Quadzilla some more time with the tuning, and im sure everyone will be on this bandwagon....

ADR 3000 file stacked with a Smarty on 4..... my truck has never been more fun. Now i just have to buy my own Smarty....:bang

we put my smarty on arins truck it ran like a raped ape it was leval 6 not 4 :poke:, i run it daily with smarty #8 and comp 5x5 and id say the smarty edge stack is more street/tow friendly and made about the same power/smoke but were comparing a 02 with tq man. standard cab to a 98quad cab w/ out tq man...............id say edge/smarty tst/smarty for a tried and true stack..........if you want to make big #'s P-pump is the way to go IMO

oh and hes runnin the shwister and i have my little 35/40 holset:doh:

USED smarty @ $500 + USED drag comp @ $450 = $950

NEW adrenaline w/ turbo timer, defueling options, EGT/Boost/Trans/Fuel Pressure gauge = $525 (and i hear they are going for less NEW)

save your $425, make more power, and put it towards a better turbo (save ur time and dont go looking for a shwister)

lets leave the p-pump out of this conversation

I still have my fingers crossed for the ADR. It sounds like a few guys have had good results. It's still in my truck, lying in wait (like a serial killer) for a tune that'll work. Until then, the Comp is alive and well.

I will have a Smarty to stack soon. I'll try it with both the ADR and the Comp and post the Dyno results.

quad is the future, but untill they get their buggs worked out im stickin with my edge/smarty stack:pop:

should be interesting to see :pop:

i love my adr....i only ran a drag comp for a few weeks and loved it almost every time i got on it, however it doesnt even come close to the versatility of the adr (imo), due to the simple fact that tunes can be uploaded to fit your trucks mods and competition....and like coon smile says its tough to get a timer, free downloadable tunes, all guages, and great customer service for $500....just my $.02

I can't wait, this should be good. Also are your going to be dynoing the DC/Smarty stack right?

the buttons on the adr stink they don't work well at all. i have played with my buddies pulse and replaced and cleaned the buttons with new ones that were sent out they still don't work right takes forever to get the button to work then it clicks 2-3 times instead of once. needs better manufacturing
