Cubic Inch

Sigma=HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

I don't know, I am just not sold on the whole Common Rail thing. I know trucks have run great numbers on the dyno and at the drag racing track, and I know improvements are being made every day, making huge progress in the way of horsepower, but I don't see them surpassing the p-pump, Sigma, or 12cyl pump for (sled pulling) horsepower potential.

Yeah I've always wondered why nobody has messed around with boring out a motor? Seems thats what alot of the gasser guys do to make more HP, same w/ pulling tractors...:pop:

No one ever bored out a pulling truck?:what:
(Scratches head and thinks "Dan must have been lying to me about those specs then..." )

Its being done. If you think about it and who all would be involved, its been done over and over and over again.

why not just stay with the infinite tuneablity of the CR's put everything off a 5.9 CR and put it in the 6.7L along with a TST and Smarty big a$$ set of twins (or a big single for you Tom) and call it a pulling champ! No replacement for displacement!

Until something like EFILive comes out for the CR Cummins, you don't have "infinite tuneability".

I could also be wrong on this but do CR injectors exist yet that will flow like the monster nozzles that exist for the mechanically injected trucks?

So until you have those 2 things, the mechanical guys will rule the pulling tracks.

Heard through the grapevine a week ago that a Duramax from Missouri is running bigger cubic inch. As for how much bigger cubic inch it is or if it's even true, i don't know.

so infinite tuneability was a stretch but could you imagine how fast the CR's would take over EVERYTHING if there was such a programmer? Its only a matter of time...:kick: :evil

Yes injectors from atleast F1 are around that make huge power gains but you dont have to run super huge injectors on CR's because they are part electrical...all you have to do is stretch the pulse width!

EFIlive+Massive turbo set-up+Big injectors+Big programmers=the end of the mechanical age of diesl motorsports! IMHO:rockwoot:

Sorry, dont know what I was thinking, I had just got out of the hospital for some tests...so i was kinda just "blaaahhhhhh..." I'm not that stupid:bang

Thats an awful bold statement.

Then again that might be a true statement for you guys on the West Coast guys that are just starting to dabble in the High HP Stuff.

I have a 6B block and at this point I am waiting for info on wall thickness. (cyl wall) It is my feeling that there will not be enough meat left to effectively support 4.5" bore. I'll post up and let ya'll know. My thought was that we could maybe bore block for custom inserts bored to 4.5 May have to fill block though.

Just to update. The standard bore block I had tested was .221 on the thinest part of the cyl wall. and up to .29 and change at it thickest. This was a worn block tested. So...... 4.25 is kinda safe. Filling the block is an option for more bore size, but as mention earlier in this thread, doesn't leave much between cylinders. Pistons are available to go .040 After that it's custom pistons. Takes about six to eight weeks from blueptrint to work bench.

Sooooo, like stated earlier, who's going to have the first 6.7 Longblock BOMBed? If you start from scratch, would it be easier to omit all the emissions BS?

I think its more a matter of who "was". Reb Brown to be exact. Reb has had a 6.7 bombed with CR parts since back in march. Coverted the CR parts over to the 6.7 and took off with it. She puts it down too. But that truck has been around for a little while now.

EFI Live mentioned they wanted to get into doing a EFI Live setup for the CR but I haven't heard on any verbal commitment other than they said they were thinking about it. If they did, yea it would be sweet.

Big Bore Chevy you say???? Hmmm... Stroll through some of the new movies and see if any of those trucks fit the bill.... One of them might.

Not mad, it's true...it is a bold statement but I think in the long run it will be a true statement, only one component is missing, the laptop programmer. thats it!:poke:
Plus you know us west coast guys are always about a year or two behind the central and east coast pullers, so when we catch up to you guys, we will do it with our hippie tiedie t-shirts on!:hehe:

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but try to learn the strengths and weaknesses of all three players in the Diesel truck arena so you don't come off as such an uneducated individual!

FYI...there is a forum for Bench Racing. I believe the discussion here is about Cubic Inches. I don't have much to offer on the subject so I will continue reading.

I was a little harsh on the reaction as well. I got to learn to not pick up my computer after I have been drinking... Its a common problem with me....:bang

Wait... I drink all day long. This could be a problem.

WOW! I did think is struck such a cord with the diapermax and powerjoke crowd...AS IS WAS NOT MY INTENT TO START A BRAND WAR.*bdh* If i came off as uneducated than I guess i am just that dumb? But I was under the impression I was responding to a previous post.

As for the strenght and weaknesses of the other brands, I DONT CARE, IT IS MY PLAN TO DOMINATE THE WORLD IN MY 5.9L STROKED TO A 6.7L CR CUMMINS (hows that for staying on topic) :hehe:

my most humbul appologies to everyone else.

I think he meant the first p-pumped 6.7. He did ask who will build the first "bombed 6.7", I think he was refering to a real injection pump. :hehe:
