Cummins Headgasket is MADE IN CHINA!!!

cant be

cant be that much diff

man

so if you can run 26° with 145° injector with the one one the left how much timing would you have to put in it to get outta the bowl with the one on the right? (same 145° inj)

I work at Caterpillar building the 3600 and you wouldnt believe the amount of stuff built in china and india on those million dollar engines. so it doesnt surprise me to see cummins making stuff in china

Thanks for the replys, I'm going to start putting it back together on Tuesday. I'm still cleaning and painting parts today. It took me forever to clean and tap all the bolts holes. This is a lot of work but I don't want to take any short cuts.

just be really careful when you bring the head in for assembly

carefullly get it in position and throw a couple of studs in so you can line it up

if the head dings the gasket anywheres along the way you'll be given the chinese another hundy

I just pulled a HG out tonight and couldn't find much for a label but it came in an Interstate Mcbee (sp) kit and it is falling apart after 3 hooks all of the black material and red sealant is falling off. After closer inspection it is actually a 2 layer gasket that has some sealent in between them. I went back and found the last one I took out and it has a FP before the part number assuming fel pro and it is a one layer piece and the surface still looks like new it also has made in England on it. In my opinion I would not use the 2 piece.

which pistons are in kas's avatar???

As I stated in the PM, I wasn't sure where I had that pic from. I looked on my PC, and it's a pic I found a few years back on a google search. It's from a guys pulling build IIRC, nothing me or my buddies have done. Can't tell you which is which.
