I have a customer that has a 2000 F550 XL zf6 trans and he is interested in doing the conversion. My question is one everything iv read so far is about f250-f350 trucks. Is the 550 the exact same dimensions with the motor mounts, frame width, crossmember size all the same? The reason I ask is a friend told me I could pull the motor and leave the trans in place. It did not work that way. The oilpan hit the crossmember before the clutch was even close to being out of the bellhousing.

This guy hauls dozers and such and want a strong running 12v about 450 horse. Are the destroked mounts up to this kinda task?

Thanks in advance, Tim

yes, the 450/550 trucks use the same motor mounts, crossmember and other components that the 250 and 350 trucks do

Destroked mounts are plenty strong enough. I run them with no problems.

i have been told the fordcummins mounts are strong. i will be going with their mounts i think

ive been running the fordcummins mounts with around 700hp for a year without any problems..
