My friend bought this turbo from Bosshawg600, I have Teddybear's phat shaft 71 to compare the wheels and you can see in the pics on page 2 where smknram measured it.

take the cover off and measure the wheel there and see what it reads, and post the pic. it might be a 71mm wheel with a 2.6 cover on it

Just through machining. They can cut the taper on the inside for 71mm wheels while the outside edge is still 66mm. There are new rules in some org. that say the compressor wheel must stick 3/8 (just a figurative number) inch into the inlet throat so that the compressor wheel would have to still be machined to 66mm to pass a tech plug.

Thats the only thing that I could think of but I wasn't sure if they even made covers like that so I didn't want to make myself look stupid.:hehe:

To clear up my comment to Dan (Zstroken) in this thread and for whoever else now feels wronged because of what I said. I did not look at Jeff's (bosshog600's) actual turbo. I know the 71mm compressor S300's quite well and they were in fact built and do exist. I didnt question if he had one, I took it he did from the conversations we had. I was told what it was and if in fact he did it is a nice piece knowing them the way we do. My stance on it was more to validate that they have been built and are out there than the fact his was or wasnt one. I should have made that more clear.

I have explained this to the guy who bought it and I hope he gets taken care of.

I do feel violated! Sad part I really don't feel it anymore! :hehe:
Who am I kidding, I don't feel violated!

Ya I get riled up easily sorry guys. I got ripped off bad on here once and just dont want to see it happen to anyone. Im sure you guys can get something worked out.

Well, its time for me to upgrade turbos.....or down grade.....

Well, there is absolutly nothing wrong with the turbo, in fact i LOVE this turbo! But I am going to be running ITPA 2.6 class next year and this turbo isnt going to do what I want to.

wasn't the purpose of this sale, so he could step down to a 2.6 class???

:what::what::what:

Wish I had the money to buy it and get a 2.5 housing for it I need a turbo upgrade. Wanna trade for a 64mm?:poke::hehe:

Sorry that i havent followed up guys, I have been sick on and off the past 2 weeks, have been moving from one town to the next town and trying to keep up with everything at work during all that.

I understand what ya'll were getting at that it could be necked down to a 2.6 but if you look at the pics you can tell thats not the case. Its easy to see the wheel is the same as the front of the cover.

Nothing has been resolved yet, Jeff did write me back, FINALLY, but didnt act like it was his problem anymore. Im just upset that i paid for a turbo i dont need/want.

Thanks,
Brandon

My 71mm S300 for comparison to the previous pictures on here.

I hope you get it all worked out.

Perhaps Jeff was either misinformed when he bought the turbo from HTT, or plain and simple he didnt get what he paid for, but just assumed it to be the 71mm inducer and never measured it for himself. If Jeff would have known that it was a 2.6 charger, he probably would have kept it. His whole reason for selling was to buy another charger to run in the 2.6 class, but turns out the one he had would have worked just fine. Just my .02

I wish this thread would just die!

Well, since everyone is trying to drag me through the mud that have no business in this matter, I might as well give my side to all this.

First i bought the turbo a year ago. I was told by the PO that this was custom ordered with a 71mm wheel. So with my very limited knowledge of turbos, i took his word for it. I decided to take all the numbers off the turbo, call HTT and see what I realy bought (quite a few months later) and i gave them the numbers. What they told me was that the model number was for a Pro street charger, but the serial number was given to a custom amde charger and didnt have any details on it. So I still believed that it was in fact a 71mm charger. As I started pulling, i was puged a few times, and ever time I was told it was too big and they would try and bump me up to the bigger classes. Why would i ever think other than this charger was a 66? No!

No to the sale. i will defend my self and slig a little mud. I put the charger up at the beginning of this add, you all can read it. Well Mr. Smknram PM'ed me and said he wanted it. Well after a few weeks the money was sitting in my account and I shipped out the charger. I was never asked to take pictures of it, inspect the condition or it or any of the sorts. So once again i believed it was a 2.8 charger.

Now all the sudden I am getting bashed by people that just want to stick their nose in other peoples business and start something. Well good for you. I hope you feel better!

But i will say that Chris and i did talk about the turbo at a pull. He never looked at the turbo (maybe took a quick look with my hood up) but nothing to see exactly what the charger was. And thanks for standing up for me! At least some one is!

So now, I am in nothing close to a situation to make this right, Even though i DO NOT have to do anything. I working a crapy job and have more and more bills coming in everyday. And when ever I have free time Im trying to scrap money together to get my truck up and running again.

So lets just leave this matter to me and Smknram and NO ONE ELSE! Thank You!!!!!
