Goodbye Quadzilla,............what a waste of money. No 4K tunes,......pops and sputters in the high end............less power than running it than without............yep gonna file that tuner under POS!!!!!!

educate me on this, now i'm not selling or buying quad programmers but would like to know whats all wrong with them. Are they all just junk or did you get a bad one. Glad now i went with a edge mainly cuase quad wasnt out yet. I did hear that they was suppose to fix a problem with them causeing alot of surgeing.

Actually, I think all tuners are carp at this point except the Smarty. Big injectors and a good pump will get you enough fuel, the smarty gets me timing. ink the Quad is more for guys running less mods in their truck.

The difference in the fueling with the Quad and without was really noticeable. I throw a ton more smoke without the Quad and it pulls so much harder too. I think its probably more for trucks with less mods, not really a competition level piece of equipment.

Just curious what your other mods are.

I know quite a few guys have gotten rid of their Smarty's for the ADR

I think I am completely soured on any fueling box. Now a timing box yes, I run a Smarty. That tuner has a noticeable effect when I flash the ECM, more power, quicker spool up, and better power up in the higher rpm's. not to mention i got 691 miles out 32 gallons of fuel running the smarty and that was with some BIG sticks in.

Sounds like an installation error, probably tapped the wrong wire. There are zero products out there for 98.5-02 that add over 65hp without a wire tap.

Every fueling box out there will run like a dog with a bad wire tap.

So enjoy your 50 hp gain with the smarty and have fun spinning the tires in first gear and beating up on stock fords and older chevys.

Umm something was wrong then. My ADR makes a big difference in my smoke and the truck runs noticeably stronger with it than without. And the quad/comp/tst/redline aren't designed around any specific set of mods. They are designed to run and make power on a stock truck and then other mods such as injectors and turbos enhance the power that the boxes already make.

And how big a sticks are we talking here? And a smarty alone only increases power by maybe 65hp. Definitely not the 120hp that every other box makes.

port and polish head, Intake, exhaust manifold, cam, injectors, 66/71/16, HRVP, 4" exhaust, Georend trans, 4.10's, and some other poo.

The Adrenaline i had on my 98.5 worked fine. It had some internal issues from the previous owner beating up the module. Quad fixed it for $21 and shipped it back to me. Definite increase in power and noticeable difference in smoke.

About the Smarty....i hate the Smarty due to my common rail experiences but on a VP, the smarty is awesome. No, not much power, but driveability and ALWAYS 1-2mpg more made it worth it.

those injectors aren't all that big, plenty of us run much larger. second, all the smarty is really good for when you are heavily modded is timing. if you really did have what I would call "huge" injectors, any of the higher Catcher settings would just overfuel the bottom end and make it a dog off the line with no real gain on the top.

I have run the Quad with a LOT more mods than you have there and it pulled very hard all the way to 3700-3800 rpm, I know it isn't 4K but it's not far off either.

BgBlDodge was correct, something else was wrong.

Just to clarify, the Quad did increase power noticeable when it was stock. Even after a few mods it was still adding some power but, not any more.

Definitely sounds like operator error. I bought one for a buddy's truck and it had issues from the PO messing it up, sent it to quad, fixed for free and ran like a champ after that.

So did you even talk to Quad about it? because they will do their best to troubleshoot you and fix your issues. Right now it just sounds like you wanna complain.

I would really have liked the quad to work out but, it hasn't especially with the limit on RPMS. It was a much cheaper option that looking at the P7100. The big bonus there is no tunes required for the high RPM.

Yes I have, and I have run several of the 2000 series and the BETA tunes as directed but, no advantage. Even with specific settings in the unlocked CM, still a no go.
