I looked around there many times and would feel much more comfortable purchasing a new unit.....

Thank you, Vanishing Point has the liteweight windows going in and finishing up their part of the build- I will get my part of the thrash when they finish- believe me I am waiting for them.... I will be getting alot of sleepless nites but I totally enjoy this type of work, to me its not work, its stress relief..... (I've been working on my end of things that I can do without the roller here, so when it does - I will be thrashing away!):evil :woohoo:

This is good news, pretty the soon the race truck will be home, and the fun will really start for ya! Can't wait to see some pictures of the rolling chassis!:ft: :ft:

Thanks RacinDuallie and Dalpilot for the compliments.:Cheer:

All we can do is our best...

I sent RacinDuallie some of our black epoxy primer to try yesterday and I'm anxious to hear his opinion on it vs. PPG's DP which is his (and many others in the auto refinishing industry) favorite because it earned the right to be the industry std. for many, many years.

I like to think nothing we make is run of the mill even if compared to the big boys best products so I'm all ears on an educated evaluation....

Andy, Based on the information that we discussed in our phone conversation and the literature that you sent my way, I am really eager to try this product out. Yes I have used the PPG products in the past, I had some good results and also honestly some bad results. I am anxious to see how well this epoxy covers and cures, but so far from what information that I have soaked up I will defineately let you know my results. :rockwoot: :rockwoot:

Just got an e-mail that the windows are in and they are working on the interior now- I am waiting on some pics- Jim said he was very busy so it may take a few days.....

^Me too. Some other news- the carbon fiber bed top is back in the picture, ..... And I will have some carbon fiber left over after fitting it to the bed- for other areas needed.....

Cool.

Keep in mind with any epoxy out there due to a resin change a few years ago prompted by a VOC law epoxies used over bare metal or Aluminum now like 80 grit scratches much better than the 180 grit scratches that they previously required. This is stated in our epoxy tech sheet in the tech manual and epoxies will still stick to 180 bare metal scratches 80 grit scratches especially on large pieces/jobs are best.

A lot of people don't know DP changed a while back and it's no longer recommended over bare metal as they want an acid etch/wash primer used first.

I'm going to post in the exterior section in more detail on this subject because a lot of people don't know about the changes in epoxy resins and the disadvantage of wash primer on anything other than fast-turning collision work.
