I plan on heading out to the shop again this weekend- I want to start smoothing the body after they cut it up and modified it. It needs to be smooth for the Southern Polyurethanes Paint Products!

I went, got there before they did, LOL first one in the shop, out the back door I went. Rolled the rig to the side out back- and went to work!! Block sanding the gelcoat....

Here is a sneeky peek at the exterior mods on the manifold. this s.o.b. is a little heavy for my tastes. I'd really like to develop an Inconnell tubed header. But I hafta make due with this piece for now..... A bit more work on the outside then I can move on to the inside.....

Wow...2 day regular shipping from GA to NYC? That's smoking fast! Did they ship freight line or UPS?

LOL Andy these UPS guys in the Manhattan Hub know me, I know a lot of supervisors and bigwigs in that hub, LOL prioroty service??

Killer!!

Cool.

Just thought of something....if you haven't already let the fiberglass body sit outside in the UV light for 6-8 hours do so now. The UV light will help flow and release solvents trapped from the manufacturing process which will produce a better overall paint finish along with better adhesion.

A common problem we see in the fiberglass street rod market is many companies don't do this on the manufacturing level before it gets to the consumer nor do they tell the consumer it needs to be done. The better companies do this and pass along a piece of paper saying that it has already been done. The worst case scenario I have seen too many times is a glass '32 someone puts $100K into and after it sees sunlight the door gaps change for the worse and/or paint delaminates!

This holds true whether one buys a glass hood or glass Cobra kit car.
