DHRA, with the agreement of the regular Mod pullers, has decided to lighten the class to 7600#, for 08.

Just great, now I have to sell 400lbs of lead bricks :)

Oh wait we only have 1 DHRA pull out this way so I can keep the wieght at 8000 and skip the one pull.

I might be selling more then 400lbs depending on the wieght difference of the 3rd gen dodge body anyway.

I think it's good, may help the equipment last longer.

Now if Gene can keep the tracks to 300' should be a cake walk :) notice the smiley

so that means my stock dmax would be in the mod class since it weighs more than that? and my 86 1 ton is wieghing in at some where aroung 9k?

So is that how you are going to keep the regular mod pullers happy with the new "any compression ignition engine rule" Gene? Brad did not sound real happy about that....

The weight issue sounds good to me but my main question with the mod class is why do they only have a 156" wheel base limit (Dodge Quad-Cab Long Box) when the Fords and the GM's are upwards to 172" If I were to go to Rockwells, Drop box and reversers and more motor and cut tires I would by way below that weight limit but I am 14" over length...Sucks for someone running a stock length chassis.

Chris Watsons Ford was a Crew Cab Long Box IIRC, he was able to run and win mod class last year..

So that mean DT 466's and KTA's are okay now???? How about alcohol? I'm confused already

All STEEL body, supercab, long bed, tube chassis. I can run at 6200lbs with 800 lbs in the box and me driving. With fiberglass on new one should be a bit lighter yet. our first truck (the one Rodd Tarr has now) was 168" I believe, and the last one was 157 and 3/4.

I think the rule should read. "One ton OEM style block required. Aftermarket blocks must be able to accept a stock crank and have stock camshaft position, and bore centers. no engine shall exceed 460 cubic inch"

and on the end of that, compression ignition engines larger than 1 ton, will have a weight penalty, of 800 pounds. 7600-800= 6800.

Haven't figured a weight on the 2wds, yet. 6200???

Unless I get 10 firm commitments of making 50% of the pulls or better, for 1 ton engines, we have to let other engines in.

4 trucks are not a class, and 2 is worse.

You all want higher pur$e$, well I need something to sell.

Sponsor quote:" Awesome trucks, too bad there isn't more of them."

We do have another option, scrap the class, add the standard purse to Super Street, and pay two Mods to come exhibition.
