DHRA Mod class weight change

Ryan, 2007 DHRA rule book, Mod class wheelbase, 180 inches.

Where did you get the 156???

Yeah, Maybe I read it in the 2006 book but I know PPL and NTPA have 156"...Not that I am wanting to run in the class but it would be nice to know I could sometime in the future. For now I will stick with SuperStreet....know of anything comming up with them you would like to share??? I have been hearing all kinds of things about all the other classes and nothing on SS.

All STEEL body, supercab, long bed, tube chassis. I can run at 6200lbs with 800 lbs in the box and me driving. With fiberglass on new one should be a bit lighter yet. our first truck (the one Rodd Tarr has now) was 168" I believe, and the last one was 157 and 3/4.

I am hoping the Dodge Quad Cab isn't all that much heavier, I know it's going to be heavier just not sure how much. The front clip will be glass.

Scott, shouldn' be much heavier if any. Just make sure you gut the hell out of everything you can, it needs to be light as possible.

Ryan, Super Street has nothing to change, there were 0 complaints. The class is right where we want it.

I do not see any changes in WS or the 2.8 class(for 08).

There may be a 2.5/2.6 class created, if WS goes to trophy only, no points.

Well, thats cool then...If all goes as planed it looks like I will be pulling with you guys in SS at all the pulls north of Kentucky.

There are a few mods in the works for the truck but not sure how far I will be able to take it in one winter and being swamped in the shop with my bussiness.

Unless I get 10 firm commitments of making 50% of the pulls or better, for 1 ton engines, we have to let other engines in.

Just curious... could you list ten trucks that fit the current rules?

Me1, Erik Stacey2, Terry Martin3, Kent Crowder4, Ben Miller5, Van Haisley6, Curt Haisley7, Jeremy Straley8, Cory Atley9, Cory Atley10(in progress). And a couple more in the works, and a few more that dont get out too often.

It is in PA with a single, He was working on a tube frame, last I heard.

Chris, half those listed don't want to pull DHRA at all (for various reasons, not all bad.)

The other half most times dont want to travel.

If I got emails, or a phone call from those 10, that would even committ to half the pulls, I would reconsider.

I know its not 50% but I am hoping to make three DHRA pulls next year with BBD II

Put me down as one gene. I can make at least 50% of the hooks and I have a 1 ton or smaller OEM block. I think you could count shane kellog since he just about has his put together with a 5.9. I'll try to call you to confirm that way also.

I can't confirm that i'll be ready for next year, but should definately be ready to battle it out in 09. We'll just have to see how it goes.
I understand people not wanting to travel. But at this time, we need all the support we can get from the competitors, sponsors, organizations, etc.. or the class will die.

Thanks, guys, I appreciate the support. I'll do every thing I can to keep it split.

Is Shane building for OSTPA?

OK.. same list I had... minus yours.

Van's is down, and not sure when it will come back out.

You didn't list Todd Gettelfinger either.

Don't know what the progress time will be on Atley's new one.

What does Todd have?
Minnesota truck, haven't seen him all year, Big Boys Toys?

the new one will be done by murfreesboro but still debating to bring it out on an indoor pull......

Gene, Todd has a tilt body too. Pulled all over KY this year. He is still ironing the bugs out

I was including Todd in the "doesn't get out real often" crowd, along with Jody (Gus) Mackereth (sp?) Darryl Poole's truck (MIA?) Dave Mitchell's old truck (possibly new owner?)

Sounds good. I am glad street is staying 2.8.
The 2.6 class should fill a gap for the mid level trucks....heck I might even bump down!
