has anyone had any problems with stacking a drag comp with a smarty on 98.5 to 02 24V.

as long as you run the smarty on the programs without added timing, you should be fine.

Here you go.

I'm with stupid.gif

I know someone that runs that combo. Just like Tim said, without added timing. His truck runs like a raped ape with it too! I say do it.

We lost an average of 6hp on the dyno with the smarty stacked on the drag comp.

brnaodn.

Is 6hp worth the driveability advantage??

Whose truck(s) did you try it on Brandon??

So Chris, you're saying that with them stacked the drivability is better? I'm still trying to figure out all this computer controlled stuff for a friend of mine who for some reason doesn't want a 12V :)

Smoke's brother was not very crazy about the Smarty......

I have a 12v, so my low end and driveability is right where it should be...in the right foot;)

My friend's 02 is great with the SMARTY, but it's a stick, if it matters at all.

I was asking Brandon if the guys that tried the SMARTY thought the driveablility difference was worth 6hp. I only talked to one of them, and he liked it...but that was before he dynoed.

OK, I'm still trying to learn about these computer trucks. I can't stand dealing with my stupid laptop just to vist the forums, I sure don't want to have to deal with computers when I'm playing with the truck :)

His smarty is for sale. I hate the way it drove. The throttle with the drag comp + smarty was like trying to herd cats. You knew what you wanted the truck to do, but it was impossible to control it.

bnraond.

I ran the Smarty alone, stacked with a TST Comp, and with a TST/ EZ stack.

It sucked no matter what setting I had it on.

The added throttle response was offset by how jumpy it made the truck. It was very hard to drive in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear.

The truck fell flat on its face at 2K rpm, unless i had the TST turned on.

Truck was a 02 6 speed with an II HRVP, II 11 hole injectors, and South Bend 3600LB DD, if it matters.

I have to say that I like my smarty. I did loose about 9hp, but the power came on ~300 rpm sooner. I dont drive with my TST on, so all I've got is inj and the smarty going down the road. I also usually only have the smarty on 1 for better MPG.

Something tells me I would feel the same about your truck with that GT42 on there;)

I guess like everything else, it all boils down to personal preference!

I ran a smarty stack with a edge hot juice then with a redline , after installing bigger sticks and turbos I couldnt tell it was on there , I run a old power puck stack with a redline and I really like that but cant stand on it with a borrowed turbo lol

the power fells good but i get a surge under load. it is there with comp on and off and it gets worse the higher the comp is set. tried two comps and they are the same. all this started when i put the smraty on the first time.

I ran it for awhile with the Hot DDUFM and liked it, except for the low end (1200-1700rpm) timing knock when I give it moderate to heavy throttle. The charger lit like yesterday and the top end was insane with the ufm on 5x5. Full fuel all the way to 3400. As far as dyno numbers I cant say, but it isnt advertised to add hp to vp trucks anyways.
