Dt360 2008 f450

Hope you don't mind me asking, but would you post up the part number/make and model number for the air/hydraulic slave cylinger? I need to look into one of those.

BTW, this is the one of the top engine swap threads I've read in a long time. Heck of a job!

Thanks,
D.S.

I bought 2, they only had 3 left at the time, just an awesome piece, it works well even without air. I got stuck in traffic yesterday and it was so nice to just keep the clutch on the floor with no effort.

Flatbed installed, I think I might do a new headache rack, something a little sleeker and less work truck. The factory hitch needs to go to clean up the rear. Also need to paint the whole truck soon too. :D

Do you still have the turbocharger from your 6.4 engine?
I might see about using the 6.4 turbo on mine, especially if it comes with the truck.

People talk about how bad the 6.4 turbo is, but honeslty, with the vvt actuator unhooked, my boost to drive is around 1:1 or very close, the computer and VVT system can make the drive pressure crazy, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Theres a few threads on different forums, on how to run a VVT or VGT turbo with air actuators and springs.

Ya I do, and I kind of thought it would be neat to use it. If you see any good threads on using one the simple way link me! I'd be interested in giving it a go since it's already there.

The actuator lever is just 1 way wide open, not trying to build boost, maximum flow, less restriction.

The other way is more restriction on exhaust, spool harder.

All you do, (or guys have done), is use an air actuator, plumb it to your intake, and put a spring on it, holding the turbo in the "tight" position. As boost builds, the air actuator acts against the spring, and starts to open the turbo up.

This way, it makes boost at lower RPM, and doesn't get out of control at high RPM high load conditions. Kind of like a wastegate, only much better.

I've driven it around a fair bit, trans is awesome, I've had one or 2 previously in 5 ton dt466 trucks. They can be a bit tricky to find gears sometimes as its a bit of a void from 2-4th, but once you get the hang of it its pretty nice. The L and R gears are super low which is great for moving trailers around. ;) I really need to get the power up next as it sucks a bit of the fun out of driving it when it's slow.

i really wanna do this swap so bad one day.

got any more under hood pictures now thats its driving?
