with a 2" spacer on the hub and a 2nd spacer between the wheels on both sides (4) total and 33-12.5s,would this be strong enough on a 2.8 truck???? Im thinking that sounds scarry with the force the sled puts on the back.
just remember NADM put a 102" tire width rule out this year. I am running a set of 17" dually wheels, 33x12.5 trxus sts with 2.5" spacers and i am 98" wide. there is just over 1" of space between the wheels.:Cheer:
What makes me mad is the fact that the hub designers didn't bring the machined lip out any farther than they did. If they'd have brought it out another inch, you could put a 1 inch spacer between the rims and still have hubcentricity on the outer rim.
my chassis is headed to the paint shop this weekend and I tossing around putting a dually bed on instaed of the srw box,as Im planning on putting duals on it anyway? what do you guys think-is the extra 80 lbs for the fenders really a dissadvantage????? Id like to be able to drive it with the duals on with out getting pulled over for no fenders.
I don't think my 2nd gen fenders weigh 40lbs together, if it(dualls) wasn't worth it, whyy spend all the money and time to run them. Why not run mega fenders, they even make em 2"s wider than stock.
You are better off running the dually fenders. That way there will never be an issue with running dual wheels at some places that won't allow duals on a fleetside truck.
so i tried mounting duals with the 2" spacer ont he hub, and im like less than 1/4" from the calipers clearing. im gonna do a little grinding on the caliper and get it to clear. this way I can reinstall my calipers and leave them on for good and not have to constantly take them on and off and bleed the brakes.
