Dually or new wheels!

All right next year I was thinking of trying something different. I all ready have a set of dually wheels and wheel spacers that will bolt to the back of my 2005 and let me run duals. The thing is I would either have to get two new tires or find a cheap set of tires and run them on the back and the sts's up front. I am kinda leaning on which way to go ahead and throw out the extra money and pick up some new tires or find some good wheels and just run a SRW next year. Don't really have the cash for both. Think it would be much of an advantage running duals?

I don't think I have ever seen a time when duals have hurt an automatic truck. Now a manual, you might be harder on the clutch, but I don't see it hurting a manual if your clutch can handle it.

They helped me zero and trust me I was turnin them I had mud on my roof PS this was after I got my iron giant installed not the 1 hook with my 3850 that slipped it.

I don't see how, they can hurt though, especially on a loose track. I have thought about running some tires where on the loose tracks dual them up, and on the tight tracks run the singles.

They didnt help we all thought they would but.........
This was on a track we hook at 3-4 times a year and my footage was consistant with running a single wheel. I would rather bump to a 35" tire instead which is what I will be using this year :evil!

Duals for me. :rockwoot: Might be lookin for spare parts but thats the fun of it:Cheer:

so duals didnt help u at all, what was the difference in footage or was it like dead on, cause im thinkin about the same thing and im gonna be using toyo mts which still have like 80% tread left

I believe I might, maybe, don't know but trading those pitbull tires I won back to pitbull for the growlers in a 33/13.50 and run them on back as duals with my 33/15.50/18's up front. Think I can break a transfer case like that?

Iv been wanting to talk about this cause i can see both sides of this. Running duals you have more tire on the ground but you loose contact PSI ( spreading the load out ) If ya run SRW you have more contact PSI one the one tire, witch will give ya more traction, and so would 2 tires. Like i said, i cant figure out witch would be better...

Well you have so much weight on the back end I would think that dual tires would help spread the load expecially on my truck since it's a short bed. Also help you stay on float on some of the looser tracks so you don't dig big ruts.

I see what ya mean on a loose track. But on a good biting track you wouldn't want all that weight spread out,(less traction) don't ya want all that weight on a smaller contact patch (more traction)?!?!?!?!

No you want a larger contact patch. If what your saying is true, why not run a single disk clutch, or a single disk convertor?

Tory I guess we think alike, i just bought, 4 wheels, and 4 tires. I guess we will see how they work, if every one says it doesnt hurt, and did nothing for them. I guess as long as i dont go backwards, it will be okLOL

Thats wright, we can talk about it for ever, but the only way to see if it works is to try it!

Holy Cow 4 37 inch tires! That's gonna be cool to see. My buddy said I could have his dually wheels but I don't know if it would be worth it to buy 4 used tires or just mount up the STS on the dually rims and buy 2 more. I still have to drive the truck so I don't know yet.
