Dually or new wheels!

Got to thinking about this a little more and with my truck how it sits it's all ready at 7400 pounds so if I add t more tires now I'm up to around 7600 so now I have to take weight of the front which would hurt me. Thinking about just staying a single wheel now.

OOO..Good point!!! Didn't think of that!

Your Cr Is not 7400 With the spare removed and the Tail gate. Get rid of all the stuff in the back of the truck to gain Wieght up front. The Whole 08 Season My CR was at or above 650hp tq? With 4k. It had all the jazz, Blocks, Bars, 15psi front, 60psi in the back, 35" AT's My 98 extcab dually With 450hp, 6 BFG mud terrain and traction bars(No blocks) Always out pulled my CR or it was Within a couple Feet. Both trucks always weighed the same And The hitch on the CR is also pushed in some as were the Dually hitch is in a stock location. Around here Duallies usually have an advantage but not Always. There are just tons of variables

Your wright, track conditions play a big roll in this! On a loose, muddy, soft track i think DRW will shine.

I did look around this past year and didn't see a differance. Schied's for instance, i didn't think a truck won at their pull with DRW...correct me if im wrong!

I am pretty sure the winner of scheid 2.8 had dual wheels, brad ingram runs dual wheels, kusileks truck runs duals, coppess, thomas, amos.

What gear where you pulling in High tech? I can't see how you were with a couple feet of a truck with 450hp? We seen trucks this year at the track that were between 450-500hp and we let them have it at a couple pulls by like 15ft at least. Then I've seen some trucks with 100 more hp then me blow the doors off of me. Getting mixed signals on what is better.

Yes Tory your right it was, but that truck, is a horse of a diff color. No, im not running 37'' duals, i swapped them after the may raymondville pull for 35s.

Ahh I see... Yeah Wades truck runs pretty well. Beasley wasn't to far behind him though was he

406, to 386 is alot, but i know the track sucked so......who really knows what it would of been like with a good track, there might of been a totaly diff field up front.

I pulled 2nd hi or 4th low all year depending on track conditions. I also tried 5th a few times on the looser Tracks. I don't really think its all about HP all the time. It depends on how well the truck hooks and Where power is at @ certian rpm etc.

Why is your truck so heavy? My LB weighs 7100 with me, a moderately filled toolbox, and damn near a full tank of fuel.

Correct, Matt Williams from Baghdad, Ky won in a 12v DRW.

You may be right, but ive seen Wes's truck win on the best tracks, and the worst tracks.

Thats a 2nd gen though j-Rod! These 3rd gens are heavy! But I do ned to remove my spare.

The winner of Indy 2.6" was SRW, the winner of TS 2.5" was SRW.

Maybe I will just hold off for a little while! See how Dane and Corey do with thiers! Need to get a few other things out of the way first.

Sure i will be a test dummy!! lol. Well my plan is to run 6 33"x12.50 sts's. I will run 6.20 in the rockwell and 6.17 up front. As of now i will be using my 5spd and dhd:bang. But i cant drop the cash for the reverser and drop box now. So we sill see how it goes. But then again i am not worried about the power as i am running 3.0 and hope to have built a strong runner. Im just worried about the 2 things in the middle of my chassis that have some gears in them! I see the point that everyone is making about dual or big singles. I think the track plays a big part in it as well as truck setup, gears, power, so on and so on. But i am going with my first thought of setup and trying that, so Kman9090, i hope i will be of help this season as i love to help out fellow pullers. By the way if your ever around my area, stop in and turn some wrenches with me, i love to meet new people that share our passion for the sport. Sorry for the storry here guys.:Cheer:

But me and Matt Williams both qualified first and placed first in the finals. So im not sure how much the field would have been different. 2nd place was 496

I personally think duals are an advantage, depending on the truck. If the truck has trouble getting launched with SRW i wouldnt go putting duals on it. Never know till you try a setup, i tried 35 inch tires and my truck didnt like them, so i stuck with 33s.

Single rear wheel at NADM indy took first and second? Or was lierly running duals. I know Joe has single rear wheels. And that was an extremely loose track. I still vote for duals. Tory strip all that crap off your truck. Beasley doesnt hang weight and he does just fine! Scheid track nothing was proved there if you as me. Lots of trucks but no show of power really. Each truck over took the next all the way to the end. Kind of boring knowing how it was going to take place. Go to duals Tory.

$.02 here, I think that a lot of people the run srw trucks are putting the duels on for a traction advantage but still keeping with in the :rules: I may be wrong and I dont know all the rules but Ive noticed that the super modifieds and alot of gasser classes run the narrowed rear end and they do that to keep the rear tires out of the tracks of the front. Im not sure but in the lower classes you wouldnt be able to modify the front or rear of the truck , but you can run duels and acomplish a similar effect, one tire in the fronts rut and one on fresh dirt. Just an idea to throw out there.
