Ok. So for my 1100th attempt at 500hp I'm gonna ask for some tips or pointers or secret prayers yall do to dyno good. Here is a complete list of what will be on the truck this saturday:

Quad Adrenaline with the adr1000 tune (pump stretch set at 1800)
JL Machine 7x.012 injectors (~200hp)
62/71/13ss turbo set at 47psi
Hamilton Cam 181/210
Hamilton Valve Springs
Hamilton Push Rods
Scotty 2 intake (debating taking the filter off cause it's old)
5" exhaust with 5" hushpower muffler
Billet DTT transmission with 89% torque converter
HRVP
.078 Connector tubes
95gph lift pump
3.54 gears
35" tires (ECM has been corrected for the bigger tires)
BD RAD
Lock Up Switch

The way I run the dyno (and maybe this is my problem) is I get the truck up to 70mph in OD (this is assuming a dynojet), I flip the lock up switch and BD RAD, hold the brake and build about 20psi of boost, tell the guy to start the run and then shove the pedal as hard and as fast as I can to the floor. The truck never seems to light off while doing this though. It just seems to kinda accelerate. On the freeway the truck does not like to accelerate very strongly from 70mph (about 1700rpm). Get the truck up to 80mph (2000rpm) and it really wants to pull hard. Same as if I'm at 55mph in 3rd gear (2000rpm). It just wants to rip the tires off. Should I start my runs at a higher speed?

So any ideas yall? I've tried every combo out there and done everything I can think of. I'm gonna adjust my APPS friday night before the dyno to make sure it's within specs (should be since it's only a year old) and working correct but other than that I'm not sure what else to do. I've replaced every sensor on the truck.

I would think with your setup you would easily be at 500 or more??

I dont have any tips to help though sorry.

You would think but that hasn't been the case in 2+ years. Went to 496 then back down to 373 and currently at 443. Doesn't matter what box/injection pump/turbo/injectors/exhaust I'm running. So I figure that if it's not the truck then it's gotta be the driver right?

I dunno? Have you tried letting the dyno operator run the truck or someone else run it to see?

good luck with it man! i say load the turbo till you start to hear it really work then let off the brake and mash it to the floor... thats worked purty good for me and my truck

Just to make sure, get on a scanner and make sure that your map sensor and apps are reading correctly to make sure you are getting all the fuel that you need. That could easily hold you back if there was a small issue.

You got one at your shop I can borrow? Last time I checked the APPS at the PCM is was getting full voltage.

throw a bag of ice on ur intake horn, just in case ur at about 498hp and u need that extra edge, lol

good luck man, ill be shootin for 425hp and 1050ft/lbs this weekend with mine, hope we both hit the numbers we want

You know, I think it's been your dirty air filter all along.......LOL

hehe, only kiddin. Good luck on the dyno!!

The way we dyno trucks around here is: get it overdrive, flip the lockup on, let the engine come back down to around a 1k rpm(or where ever the tranny will hold lock up), then floor it till you run out of rpms. Always gets good results in Ohio.

I dynoed my 01 CTD like that with
64mm turbo
stage 5 jammer tips
ats manifold
F1 H2 cam
F1 sportsman springs
SO VP
Drag Comp
Billet Goerend Tranny
3.55 gears
and I got 545hp 1183tq and I had the ac on

tyler good luck

heck i never got the dyno numbers i really wanted either, well xcept my best in my sig, outta dumb luck, but i think chipmunk has the right idea, i would start mine around 1500 rpms or so and by 2700 or so rpms, i was dead... i dont think i would build enough fuel or boost to really get the best numbers, because id run outta rpms, quick (limited timing, stock valve springs)

good luck man

lemme know how it goes

Rick

Go out on the street and get up to about 1800rpm in top gear, then mash the gas a see how it pulls. Do this again but this time instead of mashing it just kinda roll into it untill full throttle. If the second way pulls better thats how I would dyno. It seems that if you overfuel it, it takes longer to get the turbo lit. This seems to work for me, but Im no dyno expert either.

Why are you running ADR 1000? I would use the dyno tune, ADR 2000 & comp files.

thats how i have always dynoed, and it seems to work decent for me, i did 458/1075 uncorrected on a stock hx35 with dragon flows, 4kgsk,18* 0 plate and a few afc mods.

Looks like it's time to get out on the street and see what the lowest rpm I can floor it at that it won't downshift with the lockup switch engaged.

When a buddy and I dynoed for the first time we got Chris Werner to give us some tips and the basic run down of what we should do. Basically the only tip he gave use that was different from what you do is to count to three while going to WOT. He said that most truck react better this way instead of getting drowned out.
Maybe try that and see what happens.

Hopefully I'll be dynoing this weekend if I can leave early from work on Friday. Good luck at 500rwhp Tyler. It's there somewhere.
