electric water pump

I have yet to see temps over 180 at the end of a pull. I have a custom build rad and am running that in conjunction with Dual 18" electric fans and the water pump. All of them have manual switches and it works great. I looked for a pic of my thermostat and couldn't find it. I was able to find a pic of BigBadDodges that he had posted on the TDR in 2006.

Haisleys did mine a bit different than this but very similar (I wish I could find a pic) Van told me that you just can't pull it out because there needs to be some restriction or you will have over heating in the head.

Right...you'll move too much water, and there isn't enough time for the heat good heat transfer!

Was it ever determined if running one of these pumps is feasible with an alternator and no a/c?

It will work but you need to run the fan pulley

There shouldn't be much drag as long as the fan is taken off, correct?

I seen one last year on a drag truck...No a/c, with an enterprise electric pump. If I remember right the belt runs one the outside of the 4 pulleys. Crank, idler, alt, tensioner.
